This is a highway sign in Wyoming along Hwy 14a.  I laughed at the note about "STUDY SIGN CAREFULLY".  It's on a busy road!  Anyhow it gives you an idea of the roads and why I'd never pull a camper out there.

CYA at it's best (the bottom sign).  I'd hope any freight hauler would either now the road or be apprised by their company before approaching.

Another night of thunderstorms.  No sirens here, so I guess it wasn't as bad this time.  Hope you all survived it as well.

Prayers for NALT's family.

There were numerous houses destroyed last night by the storms west of Jackson, MS (along the Arkansas-Louisiana border).  People were trapped and rescued.  No word yet on severity of injuries.

The weather is really tough this time of year. I hope casualties are at a minimum. It's storming here in P'cola right now and will last a while. We are hunkered down.

NALT, maybe Mrs. NALT views your Hawaii trip as a semi-vacation for her as well.

Chech, they make pills for that...

2, no par-3 tournament this year?
She might, not sure.  I've given her two previous opportunities to go with me that she turned down.  Something about needing to stay home with the kids...blah, blah...  This time she has to stay home to help her mother who is battling cancer.  Just got more bad news regarding the MIL this afternoon.

She had another PET Scan done on Friday.  Monday Kimberly took her for her regular chemo treatment and to get the results of the test.  The scan showed that her cancer has progressed.  Karen (MIL) has been really odd about this whole ordeal by not wanting anyone to know that she has cancer.  She didn't even tell my BIL for a long time and he lives next door to her. Initially the chemo treatment was getting a pump installed on Monday and removed two days later.  She hated that because anyone seeing it would know that she has cancer.  She complained ad nauseum until the cancer doctor agreed to forego that with another type of treatment.  This has been detrimental for her.  Karen was supposed to have a stent put in her kidney this afternoon.  Kimberly just called me a few minutes ago to tell me that due to her heart rate the doctor refused to do the procedure. Instead they had her taken to the ER to see a cardiologist.  Her normal heart rate should be ~70 bpm (maybe?) but it is, and has been for some time > 150 bpm.  Her cancer treatments are supposed to resume on the 19th and the doctor said it will be administered via the pump again.  Karen asked the doctor on Monday, "Will this new treatment cure me?" Kimberly told me that the doctor abruptly turned from his computer monitor, put his hand on her knee and looked intently into her eyes and said, "I've told you several times already.  There is no cure for what you have. We are just trying to give you a quality of life for as long as we can."  She told Kimberly to NOT tell her brother.  smh...

Prayers on Karen's behalf are greatly appreciated.

NALT, sorry to make light and joke about things with all that going on.  Prayers for your family, buddy.   Y'all are some good people.
Pffft!  No apology necessary Doc.  I have no problems with using humor to have a good time or even to sometimes take the edge off when hard times comes around.  Karen's health concerns are going to be what they are going to be.  We will get past this just as we have other issues in the past.  Same as everyone else...

Thanks all for your prayers...

NALT, Sorry to hear the report on your MIL's health.  I will add her along with your wife to my daily prayer list. You are correct that this is a tough time, but you are also correct in believing that you (ya'll) will get through this.

Good Friday morning! A little insomnia invading my sleep. Thunderstorms on the way between 6AM-7AM. Might as well stay up to greet them.
