Title: Coming Home
Post by: bamaphil on October 21, 2013, 09:48:49 PM
Just bought a ticket to the States for the Tuesday before Thanksgiving.

I'll eat turkey with my family and watch the Iron Bowl (and SEC Championship) in Tuscaloosa this year!

The last Bama game I watched in the States I was in the Super Dome watching the loss to Utah.

Yeah, I'll only be home for three weeks.  I'll enjoy Thanksgiving and some football, hopefully visit a few churches, stock up on goodies and buy some clothes that fit.  I tried on a 3X shirt last week and couldn't fit my arm in the sleeve.  :lol2:  (By the way I'm an XL in the States.  People here are small.)

I'm not superstitious but if you could tape the games and watch them later that would be great... :joker1:

Congrats on being able to come home and visit those you love.  I hope you aren't still carrying any of that bad juju from that Utah game though.  Perhaps you should steer clear of BDS...

Thanks, mom.  Glad to see you posting.

To clarify, phil's service is more spiritual than military.  Still, he's a hero in our eyes!

Unfortunately no games at BDS.  Iron Bowl is in the cow pasture and SECCG of course is in Atlanta.  I doubt I'll make an effort to go to either game since I'll probably be speaking in churches the next day both weekends, but yeah, I am a little concerned that with all the success the team has had in my absence me coming home could upset things.

True story: I was tux shopping in Beijing for my wedding and we went to one shop where the only thing that came close to fitting me was a 6X.  I ended up having it tailor made and the total cost was less than $150, so there are advantages and disadvantages.
