The Tide plays Drexel at 2:30 pm on ESPN 2. This will be an interesting match-up for the Tide. In 2011 Drexel went 29-6, but last year they went 13-18 after losing most of their team from the previous year. So far, they are 3-2 with losses of 72-67 to UCLA and a 66-62 loss to Arizona. Arizona is a VERY god team.

Drexel backcourt has 3 guards who can score:

They are VERY undersized under the basket and we need to take advantage of that with Jacobs, Taylor, Engstrom, Hale, & Randolph.

We need to play with the win mentality. We have got to think we can win some games and get down to sound BB. RTR!

I'm going to be interested to see what kind of game Jacobs, Taylor, Cooper, & Randolph will have in this game around the basket, both scoring & rebounding. I think Jacobs could have a huge game if he's not in foul trouble, & possibly Cooper.

Iowa crushes Nebraska 38-17. I think Bo Pelini is toast. The big question is, who will hire this wild man?

When we drive to the basket we score, but instead of using our significant size advantage, we are firing up 3's & missing.

Drexel 17 Tide 14 Drexel starting to get in foul trouble when Tide drives to basket. Allen key player just got 3 rd foul. Massenet, a key guard has 2.

They were talking about that during the game.  Apparently it will cost Nebraska $7.6 million to fire Pelini, so they thought he would be around another year.

Drexel has very little depth, so they are playing guys in foul trouble. We have to take advantage of our size  We are 5/17 shooting. Massenet has 3 fouls, Allen 3, & Ruffin 2. Drexel 21 Tide 16. Jacobs turns ball over.

Whoa, that's a lot of money. Who's the fool that gave him such a contract with so little to show for his tenure?

I remember a few years ago, there was a tornado watch during the Iron Bowl, and the local Huntsville network switched off the Iron Bowl so the weather man could stand in front of their radar and point to all the potential formations, where it was raining,etc.  Apparently, hundreds of people stormed the studio.

Drexel 31 Tide 21 and we STINK!! Bobby Knight was telling the Tide player with the ball how to handle the zone and the player would do the exact opposite. Have they not been coached on dealing with a 2-3 zone?
I think we are 0/5 on 3's and we were getting out rebounded by a 6'7" Drexel player late in the half. Sad, sad play and especially coaching by Alabama.

Nebraska finished season 8-4 with 3 home losses. Not good.

We shot 28% in the half. Drexel had 18 points in the paint, more than us. We had 5 assists & 8 turnovers, a horrible ratio. We are 305th in the nation in assists, which means we are not much of a passing team, but we love to dribble. Releford hits 3. Drexel 34-26.

I've been watching Arky beating LSU on CBS.  (and it's not basketball)

Randolph scores and trails by 2. Drive and shot by Releford scores. 46-46. Drexel scores 48-46. Ruffin has 4th foul. Jacobs scores inside. 48-48. Beautiful drive and shot by Drexel. 50-48. Releford scores and has 14. Jacobs hits another inside and Tide leads 52-50.

Timeout, 3:57 left in game. 52-50 Tide. We need some big shots and more rebounding. Defense looking good right now. Great play by Obasohan, Randolph, & Releford and a score. 54-51 Tide. Great passing the ball around and then Releford hits 3! 57-53 Tide. Timeout.

Jacobs scores, Tide 59-55. Jacobs has 15. Jacobs & Randolph have 7 rebounds each. Timeout.

Jacobs eating them alive inside and scores again. 61-59 Tide. Why didn't we use him more in the first half? Jacobs 18 points on 8/14 shooting.

Well, we had Releford dribble around trying to burn clock and the ball gets stolen and makes easy lay-up to tie game. The equivalent of the prevent defense in football. Great coaching and ball handling. Releford trying to do too much. Going into OT.

Drexel makes their FT's we don't, sound familiar? Drexel scores 65-63. Jacobs score again! 65-65.

Bama down by one.  4 seconds left.  Obasohan has one more FT for the tie.

Tied 67-67 and Drexel has game with 4.1 seconds. Why did Grant call timeout, that helps Drexel since they had no timeouts. 2nd OT now.

We are being out-hustled and out-worked by Drexel. They are continually beating us under the basket now. Drexel 71-67. We are no doubt the best dribbling team on the perimeter in the NCAA. We love to dribble out there with no chance of making an offensive play. 71-69 Drexel after Obasohan hits 2 FT's.

Great play by Cooper has he fouls a 3 point shooter by Drexel, plus he fouls out. Brilliant play by Cooper. Their best shooter by the way and he makes all 3 FT's. 74-69 Drexel.

Releford killing us in OT, first with a travel and now with a charge. Randolph & Cooper fouled out. Jacobs scores & is fouled. 74-71. Jacobs misses FT but Key rebounds and scores. 74-73 Drexel. Tide rebounds missed shot by Drexel. Shot by Taylor but he rebounds it. Ball stolen from Jacobs. 75-73 Drexel. Timeout.

Key hits 2 FT's, 75-75 all.

Massenat fouled. Hits 2 FT's. Obasohan fouled with 16.5 left. Williams fouls out. Obsohan hits both. 77-77. Timeout with 10.8 left. Obasohan has hit FT's twice with the game on the line. Obashan blocks shot with 2.5 second left. Replay shows it was a foul so we got a huge break. Drexel ball. 3rd OT!!

Key misses 2 FT's. Drexel 81-77. Once again, they are out rebounding us under the basket. Drexel 83-77.

Thank goodness Massenet fouled out. He is excellent scorer and FT shooter. 85-79 Tide. Releford hits 2 FT's. 85-81. Obasohan scores on fast break & is fouled. 85-83. Obasohan misses FT but Hale rebounds. Shot missed Drexel rebounds.

Drexel attempts bad 3 point shot but rebounds shot while 2 Tide players stand there and are watching. Amazing.

It was a tough loss but I can say one thing for Bama, they are not quitters. Jacobs played the best that I have seen him play today and Releford wasn't much help in the end when they needed him.

Only time will tell but I think these two games will help Bama down the road.
