Wow, what speed if he ever learns to play corner.

Quote
Marlon Humphrey spent the 2014 season as a redshirt for the Alabama football team, but is making his mark with the Crimson Tide's track team.

Humphrey, a former Hoover standout who competes in sprints and hurdles, helped the Crimson Tide break a 9-year-old record in the 4X400 relay quartet at the Randal Tyson Invitational in Fayetteville, Ark.

Individual/team records are great and all...but they still finished in third place... Maybe we need a new track coach...  Huh?

I find it a little disappointing that people choose to celebrate the guy who probably ran the slowest leg of a relay team, which came in 3rd at a meet.  Our standards are slipping.   I am excited to have Marlon, but give the other 3 guys a little credit.

I agree with you.  Where did you get that Marlon ran the slowest leg though.  Just curious...

I didn't look up the other team mates' times.  But the record they set was 3:06.05 or, 186.05 seconds.  Marlon ran a 46.9, which leaves 139.15 seconds for the other 3. That would be a 46.39 second average for the 3 team mates.  Now one or 2 could have run slower than 46.9, but someone would have had to fly to make it up.  I'm sure the times are posted somewhere.  That is why I said "probably".

I thought that was the answer but I didn't go through all the math to figure it out.  Great job!  Have an e-cred...

I started the thread & I was applauding the fact that we had a cornerback with such speed, since our DB's have been disastrous the last 2 years. Like I said, if he can learn the position, he will be a huge addition to the defense.

Matt,
I agree with you.  I am excited to have him and I think he will be a great asset.  My aim was more at Drew Champlin, who wrote the article, and not at you for posting.  "We" was a bad choice of words.
