NCAA coming after Saban about coaching staff size?

They're coming for you, Nick Saban. They're coming for you hard.
When NCAA Football Oversight Committee chairman Bob Bowlsby basically went out of his way Friday to say the association will take a "deep dive" into the size of football staffs, the NCAA's lasers were aimed directly at Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
No one really had to say that and -- in fact -- they didn't during a conference call to announce the early signing period. But it's a widely held assumption that Alabama has the largest staff in college football. We're not talking the nine on-field coaches allowed by the NCAA; we're talking about everybody.

One big problem: No one really knows what that number is -- or what it should be.

If this is the case, to he!! with the NCAA. They can't enforce something that they don't even have a policy or guidelines for. Of course, it being Alabama, they'll prolly throw the death penalty at them.

If there is a limit, and I do not think there is, just say you did not know about it. It worked for Scam Newton. 

I have been expecting the NCAA to limit staff sizes. We are working with a staff like the NFL because we can afford it and have a coach who can manage it. Most coaches would not know what to do with a staff our size.

Dennis Dodd used overblown language about the NCAA and it's coming for Alabama. Basically, they want to know how many analysts they have & then will set some kind of arbitrary limit. No problem, Saban will still win, so nothing changes and other coaches will still whine and lose.

Temporarily double the staff size.  Then when they arbitrarily cut it in half we will be right back were we started.

Saban is one of the few, if not the only coach in college football who can attract talented ex-coaches to do a stint as an analyst and break down film.  I don't see this as a bad thing, allowing former coaches a chance at redemption.  But competing schools no doubt see it as yet another advantage.

And yet Harbaugh takes his team to Rome and nobody says anything. I wonder if the Italian College football coaches are going to raise sand about him doing a mini-camp there?

They banned him from Florida...  some talk on TV about overseas trips, but it seems more of a ploy than an advantage to me.
