The talk is still out there.

There aren’t any specifics at the time as to what happened when San Francisco contacted Kiffin.

As for Kiffin, the 49ers gauged his interest in the same position a year ago, but Kiffin decided to remain put in Tuscaloosa.

Hopefully Kiffin will stay until after signing day.
I thought it was a given that he'd leave after this season.  It was the talk since September.  But now it appears we may keep him: woot.

Bottom line: I thought he was gone.  It's all gravy the longer he stays.

I think he wants to stay one more year so he can beat USC 98-0 in the opener.

Indeed.  I can envision Kiffin and SUPERCOACH dancing on the sidelines!

I'm hearing that he turned SF down, yet again. Makes sense. I can't envision Kelly being the head coach and not calling the offense. I would think that Kiffin and Kelly would clash.

Found this tweet in the article from a barner:

Quote
Please please please take the job!! He is too good at developing quarterbacks at the college level. I am tired of getting my hopes up early in the season with Bama having to get a new QB up to speed just to have them playing like a super star by the iron bowl. Not that it would have helped us much last year…

I'm guessing Brosky wrote that on their behalf.

We keep speaking of CLK as if he is just biding his time at Bama waiting for another job he likes/wants to come along.  But what if that's not the case?  Couldn't it be that he has grown to like coaching at Bama and is learning so much from CNS that he's content to stay here for a while?  Like another 5 years.

It's hard to beat the job satisfaction of coaching on a NC winning staff.

And I always think that living in Tuscaloosa grows on folks who don't know about it.  Maybe Layla and the kids really like it there.

Just sayin.....

Layla has spent much of this year at their California home, not Tuscaloosa.  The rumors about their relationship are unflattering (and worse).  True or not, the Layla rumors are driving the coaching-move rumors.

True enough but there is one thing more satisfying than being "on a NC winning staff" and that is being the HC of said staff.  Every football coach in the history of football has had the arrogance to believe that their system was the best and would bring them the championship.  I think Kiffin is likely no different, just become more patient...

Yeah. Heard about the rumors. I hope they do turn out to be just that..rumors. Nothing can be more distracting than having one's home life in turmoil.

I agree with one poster that Tuscaloosa can grow on you as well as Alabama the state. Back in the day, we had many friends that moved from Ohio to Gadsden to work at Goodyear and ending up loving it there.

If true, I hope Layla ends up giving Tuscaloosa a chance.

This is one reason you must mind your manners about who you talk about and how when coaches are on other teams. You never know when you might be wanting the same family to reside in our area. Just saying. RTR!
