Quote
Last year Barrett Jones was one of the top left tackles in the country, earning unanimous first-team All-American honors from, among others, the Associated Press, American Football Coaches Association and Football Writers Association of America.  He was also named as the winner of the 2011 Outland Trophy, which is presented annually to the nation’s best interior lineman...

This guy's a winner.

Heck, he could probably play quarterback if they need him to. Wink

With all that he has accomplished and he came back for his final year of eligibility, I just wonder what his future holds after college football. I say this in wondering how much more could he improve with what he has already done as far as football goes.

So am I the only one worried about our OL depth? If Cyrus can stay healthy and be the dominant LT that I think he is, then we are in good shape. But if we get any injuries, things are a little less solid. If Arie can come back from his injury then I will feel better about our depth, but I don't know how much we can count on guys like Kellen Williams, Chad Lindsay, or Ryan Kelly. I just hope we remain injury free on the OL. What do you guys think?

OL:  I see this as a strength.  You have Fluker, McCullough, Steen, Jones, and Warmack coming back.  You also have Cyrus Kouandjio and his brother Arie.  On the roster I saw Chad Lindsey and some coaches out here told me he was the real deal.  Think about this.  I am not saying it will happen but, what if they move Jones to center, where he played some this year and he wins the Remmington  for best center.

When Carl ask for an assessment for next year, this was in the notes.

I love the pic of Barrett! Alfred will be missed by fans and teammates. I hope we have some players eager and ready and right attitude in case of injuries.   Alfred wore OL depth shoes just right.

I hope that Lindsey and K Williams are ready to play. If Arie, Lindsey, and K Williams are healthy and ready to play, then we will have decent depth. I am not really worried about our starters, and I think Barrett will be awesome at center. I just think we need depth. But I guess the plan is if CK gets hurt again we will see BJ move back to LT and Chad Lindsey take over at center. My biggest question is will Chad make the calls? Regardless, I am excited to see what this offense can do with a mature experienced QB and a bevy of fast talented WRs. Roll Tide!
