Bingo!! They can't recruit high quality and character players so the sign high rated players who had issues in high schools. The fans are happy since they finish in the Top 10 in recruiting, but after these guys either drop out, get throw off the team, or just quit the team, they end up with a recruiting class that would have been rated #40, at best.

Reminder to everyone. Chiznik is Pat Dye's boy, so Dye will go down fighting to protect him. If Chiznik really bombs bad, Dye's credibility with the fans/alumni/boosters will nose dive and his input for future coaches will not be sought or listened to.
