I don't think he expected to win. This award caps a great career. This trophy is highly respected and considered the second most prestigious college award behind only the Heisman. I expect AJ and the school will get a trophy like the Heisman does and it will sit in the trophy case right by Mark Ingram's Heisman.
A tip of the cap to the Maxwell voters for considering leadership and integrity as well as consistent play.
