"Small items such as a wood pen that can be made out of wood that is a possibility to raise money for the new trees," said Shaw, who is also the chair of Auburn's Committee to Determine the Future of Rolling Toomer's Corner.

"Some people have suggested cutting the trees in slices and selling them. Personally,  I tend to like the idea of choosing something small because we want as many people as possible to have the opportunity to keep a little bit of something that's very sacred to the Auburn people."

Is wood pen and #2 pencil the same thing?

I am with Bama_Hammer on this - toothpicks.

Maybe the Spike 80DF wouldn't kill you from a toothpick.

From the A'burn War Eagle Weekly Reader!

Last January, people were selling wads of toilet paper harvested from the Toomer's Oaks the morning after the national championship celebration. But the market for holy Toomer's relics might be about to explode.

Harvested toilet paper from Tommer's trees?

Quote
The only thing I could think about at the committee meeting last week: what’s going to happen to them if / when they’re removed? So I asked. Hmm. Good question. Brief discussion. Maybe some sort of monument? Put it on display somewhere? Not sure.

Now a new idea about what to do with the Toomer's Oaks is taking root: souvenirs.

What kind?

Between poor Smokey's ACL surgery and Tommer's oak trees, PETA and the eagle - I'm all kind of tore-up.

I bet Missouri and TAM have no idea what they have gotten themselves into when they joined the SEC.

I think we need to just go with the obvious here and turn the trees into toilet paper. Then start the whole cycle over again (barners throw the Toomer's paper into the new trees, someone poisons the trees, trees turned into more TP, repeat)

One of the poll results.

Preserve them in a museum.  16.74%

Lovelace Athletic Museum
Auburn Athletic Department, Auburn University, AL 36831

Was this named after Linda?

Actually, no.  They could be used to make pens and pencils among other items like the one pictured here.  I would even be willing to help make them too...for a price. Cool

^^^^THIS^^^^

Wouldn't the barners ruin those wood pens with their #2 pencil and Crayola Crayons sharpeners?

We are talking about barners right?
