Title: Texas OU Weekend
Post by: Catch Prothro on October 10, 2015, 11:33:00 AM
I thought they would be playing this game at Cowboy's Stadium by now, but didn't factor in the Texas State Fair aspect.

It is called "Texas OU Weekend" in Dallas, when both schools descend on the city for their annual rivalry game.  One bonus is that the Texas State Fair in going on, and the old Cotton Bowl Stadium is in the middle of the fair grounds.  Locals avoid the Fair that weekend like the plague, too crowded with college kids.  But the college kids, and some H.S. kids, go nuts, riding the fair rides, eating their share of creative fried food items.

Mrs. CP and I disagreed on this game.  She's got the favorite, OU.  But I went with the underdog and the points in a rivalry game.  Texas hasn't give up yet.

TD Texas.  Run by Swoops.  Looks like QB may have fumbled before he crossed the line.  Play under review.  It's close.

Ruling confirmed.  (Texas player recovered the ball in the end zone anyway.)

Texas TD!

I am surprised. I thought OU might be ahead in this game. If they are as bad as they look them and Texas will be at the bottom tied. RTR!

During an interview this morning, they kept asking Charlie Strong when we can expect to see improvement by Texas, etc., the usual questions asked of a coach whose seat is getting warm.

He kept saying "Sooner."  I guess he knew his team was ready for the Sooners.   ???

Nice drive by Texas to open the Second Half.  Down to the OU 10 yard line.

Well, UT starts playing it safe & prevent defense & OU scores. If Strong blows this game by becoming too conservative on offense & especially defense, he will be crucified.

Texas wins!

I thought really hard about picking them, but I just didn't think Choklahoma would choke this time after pulling out the win at 10RC.
