Bama lost most of their games to quality teams by close scores. They hadn't even had a chance to gel and develop chemistry. It looks like they are finding themselves now in conference play. Off to a good start.

We're supposed to talk weather, right? LF and I are surrounded by about 5" of dense sleet, which is about to be solid ice. Nobody is driving anywhere in Oxford. Waiting for a snow plow. Might be a while! I leave for Yellowstone in April... Chech, you may have to go there to warm up. NALT, I also sent him a message. I guess he'll be on soon. Been praying for Mrs. Dottie.

The DC is going to be the South Alabama coach, Kane Wommack. I don't know much about him either, but what I have seen so far is encouraging. He was a semi-finalist for the Broyles award when he was the DC at Indiana when CKD was there as OC. The talking heads are saying it was a good hire. So... the next hurdle is can they keep the players that are currently on the roster, particularly Caleb Downs. If Downs decides to stay, I will feel better about everything. If he chooses to go, I can't blame him, but I am going to be a little uneasy until I see how these guys can recruit. Right now I am cautiously optimistic that this situation can work out and we keep rolling. But we will need at least a full 1 year cycle to know for sure. CDB can win next year with the roster he inherited. It will be critical to see what his recruiting class looks like next year. If we end up winning that UGA game on 9/28 a lot of folks are going to be on suicide watch. Yeah, I just read about the likelihood of Wommack coming on board as the DC. If Downs stays, I think most others will stay. Popcorn at the ready.

Guys, if it ever goes down again while I am AWOL, shoot me an e-mail. SUPERCOACH at crimsonredsports.com.
I was shocked that folks came back so quickly once I got it back up and running yesterday. I was afraid everyone had moved on to some other platform. Message boards are just about extinct these days with the rise of all of the other social media platforms.
I have opened up registration again. We might get some actual real people signing up during the transition, instead of bots trying to sell Louis Vitton garbage.
I'm glad it's back up but even happier that you're ok. As you can imagine, we were thinking the worst.

Happy 2's Day! Boy, it feels good to post that again! I have notified most of the regulars that CRS is back up, including HS Coach, but I don't know how to reach OT. If anybody does, please reach out to him. Thanks to McBaman for notifying me.

I was skeptical at first because I didn't know much about him. I do remember being impressed with his team when they beat Oregon for the second time this year when all of the talking heads had already buried them.
Hard to argue with 7-0 against Sark, Riley, and Lanning. It looks like he is bringing the OC that CNS wanted last year. I think we will be fine on that side of the ball.
The key is going to be the DC, and then we have to see how he does at recruiting.
Everybody on the internet was clamoring for T-Rob as DC, but I just kept thinking that if CNS thought T-Rob was ready to be the DC he would have promoted him instead of interviewing replacement coaches right up until he retired.
T-Rob was at SC before coming to Bama and the talk was that he spent more time playing golf than running practices. Now I doubt seriously that he did that under Saban, but it possibly tells us something about him. Knowing that, I think we can do better. I was like you, SC, I was very skeptical as well for the same reason. But when I heard his press conference, along with all the praise from the talking heads, I've changed my mind. I think he is a good hire. We do indeed need to bring on a good DC pretty quickly. I know we have players waiting to make a decision on whether to stay or go, based on who he brings on.

So what are y'alls opinion of DeBoer? I know he hasn't coached his first game for Bama, but what is your gut reaction about him?
