Title: Seating Changes Coming To Coleman Coliseum for 2015-16 Season
Post by: pmull on August 06, 2015, 08:23:23 AM
This is a much needed change that is long over due.

Quote
“One of the first things I noticed, and wanted to change, upon my hiring at The University of Alabama was to improve the fan experience at Coleman Coliseum, especially for our students,” head men’s basketball coach Avery Johnson said. “We have a large population of on-campus students and we want them to create the type of environment that’s needed and seen at the highest level. We are excited for this transition and we appreciate everyone’s support and understanding throughout this process.”

The plan calls for the current student section (located on the baseline toward the visiting team bench in sections V, W and X) to be moved to the first two sections across from the visiting bench (sections R and S) and wrap around the Northeast corner (sections T, U and V). With that, students will be relocated so they are closer to the floor in order to have more impact and help create an exciting home court environment.

I'm hoping our team will inspire the student sections to get rowdy and not even use the seats!

CAJ really needs the students to buy in to his program immediately. I have my fingers crossed but the students of today are a little different than those of past years. :-\

CAJ is pretty old school. He may go the the dorms and apts before the game and drag those kids over to Coleman by the ears.  :lol2:

If the program is doing well the students will buy in and create excitement.  The student composition is much different than in years past, many more out of state students who don't have a longstanding love of UA, but if the team is winning and competing at a high level people will get excited.
