Well I guess this settles a lot of the questions and fluffs out there that Coach Sark had done this and that. When CNS says he is happy to have him I am just as happy as a bed beg in a cotton mattress. He has been on some great Championship teams and he cut his teeth under the guy who won some championships at USCw. RTR!

Former USC and Washington head coach Steve Sarkisian will replace his former colleague in Lane Kiffin as the Crimson Tide’s play caller and quarterbacks coach, Nick Saban and Alabama announced Friday evening.

I have to admit, I'm a bit surprised.

If the demons are under control this should be a good hire.  And I believe Saban believes they are under control.  One thing to remember that I think is significant.  Sarkisian and Hurts know each other and have been "analyzing" together.  And I bet Tualagivola (sp) knows him too.  ROLL TIDE!!! #+

Add me to the list of the surprised along with 2.  But I won't second guess CNS since he knows infinitely more about the situation than I do. Gotta believe CNS had a serious "come to Jesus" talk with Sark, and that Sark will be on a leash of limited length.  If he does anything to hinder the success of the team he could be a goner pretty fast.

There is no doubt that Sark has a great offensive mind.  The future could be very interesting.  I'll give the guy his shot and hope he's a great OC and stays at Bama for a long time.

If Saban could keep Kiffin on a leash, I think we'll be fine with Sark. We get another incredible offensive mind without the constant distraction of Kiffin. Like Kiffin, he'll probably be here 2-3 years until his reputation is repaired. If he wants to be a head coach again, I imagine he'll land somewhere better than FAU.

No offense taken, 57.

Saban has really taken on the task of giving people second chances, coaches and players alike. This is likely Sark's 3rd chance. I think he will need to walk a tighter rope than Kiffin. I'm all good with him being given this opportunity, but I have my doubts that he will be able to stay the course. I truly hope he does.

In CNS' presser this afternoon, when he was talking about Sark he sounded a bit like he was trying to sell something he didn't completely believe in.  Or, like he was trying to convince himself.  I hope I'm wrong.

Gotta laugh...over on Woolly they are referring to Sark as "Cutty."  These jokes are not going away.

One question.  Does he have any running plays?

One thing about CNS, once he accepts a player or staff he goes the extra mile to help them as an individual or player

Here is my concern with the hire.  Sark has shown a huge propensity for getting drunk.  That really concerns me because he can't just sober up and coach the team.  Kiffin could however just zip up his pants and be just as good at calling plays as he had always been.  Sobering up takes more time and what if he gets staggering drunk the night before a game against one of our biggest rivals and shows up for the game still drunk?  I was one that was preaching to "trust in Coach Saban" when he hired Kiffin so I'm going to follow suit and trust him with this hire.  This one still concerns me more though...

It appears to me that CNS brought Sark in to be OC in waiting. I am excited about this hire. I liked Kiffin and did not want him to leave. This is the closest thing to status quo. We have been putting up record numbers on offense and I do not want that to change.

I hope he works out too. He's got a great offensive mind. I have a feeling that he will be watched closely over the off-season, though. If so, I hope he passes the test.

Well it has all been said now. SO, it's time to put up and see what happens. I hope this works out because if he fails here his life in college football will be over and finding his way back to normal again may not happen. I am more concerned with the human right now than I am with the coach. RTR!

What happens if he makes Hurts even better than he is now, and gets him to throwing passes on the money? then they'll be talking about how great the Sark is. RTR!
