Wow, Chech!!! That's terrible, but like you said, thank God they weren't there and nobody was hurt. How bad does that mess up your plans?

I'm okay with plans.
To give you an idea of how nice the owners are, they contacted me when they heard about the birth of our granddaughter to get an address, and they sent several nice outfits of baby clothes for the newborn.  How many motel owners do this for their guests??
 Cry

That's awesome! They sound like great people.

They're really nice people.
And this morning I saw some idiot on FB commented that the explosion was probably from "a meth lab".  The owner's daughter (also a friend of mine) went after them like a badger, cursing and ranting.  People on social media can be really STUPID.

Preacher, I hope the missus is feeling better.

Chech, yes, thank God no one was in the One Horse explosion.   Hopefully they were well insured and have a community to help them out.   Sounds likely they've been good neighbors to all in the past.

Howdy folks.  Glad that no one was injured in that blast.  Looking at the pictures it doesn't look like there was much of a fire after the explosion though which is weird.  Hopefully they will rebuild and do so quickly.  This doesn't seem like good timing because I would think the large numbers of tourists are likely getting their plans to go there over the summer.

I also hope and pray that Mrs. Dottie is feeling some relief...

Thanks guys.  Sounds like they had minimal insurance.  Just glad they're alive.

Howdy folks. Today has been very nice. James Edward and I went and mowed the lawn at church this morning.  Mrs. Nalt left with him a bit ago to take him to get a haircut.

We will have to miss the A-Day game this year as the boys and I plan on being in Pensacola to fish off the beach.

Good Sunday morning to you all!  I hope all are doing well.

I saw NALT got to mow grass, so we know he's like a hog in mud.

Mrs. 2 and I got back to P'cola from Nashville about 1:00 yesterday. We had a great time but Mrs. 2 brought back a cold with her. I am her caretaker today. YAY!

Friday night we went to the Grand Ole Opry and saw the likes of Mo Bandy and Ricky Skaggs. Saturday morning we went to the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. Very impressive!

For lunch, we made our way to the strip (Broadway St) and ate at Blake Shelton's saloon, 'Ole Red'. It was very entertaining and the food was good, but maybe our decision to go to the strip on a spring break Saturday wasn't the best idea we ever had. It was a mad house and we liked to have never gotten back out of downtown Nashville.

We finished off the day by eating at the 'Santa Fe Cattle Company' near our hotel (away from downtown near the Opry). Mrs. 2 had pasta, a mortal sin at a steak house, but she said it was very good. I had one of the best NY strips I've ever had. Unfortunately, we were too tired to chew and only hate about half of our food before retiring to the hotel where we crashed and burned.

I'll try to post some pics when I have more time.

Howdy folks.  Beautiful Monday morning but with the low humidity and stiff breeze, it is a bit chilly. Tolerable though.  I'm working a short week this week.  Taking Friday off and around noon I plan on checking the boys out of school and heading to Pensacola.  They don't know my plans just yet but they will enjoy them regardless...

We are less than 2 hours to Nashville, so we go there for weekend getaways 2-3 times a year. A great city with lots of entertainment and good food. Traffic is terrible. We normally stay on the outskirts of town in the Brentwood area. We Uber to Broadway or just about anywhere else we go. Uber round trip is about the same cost as parking, and you can have a few adult beverages without having to drive.
