Good morning folks.  Did someone say something about needing some help learning to use a chainsaw?  I can provide some very good advice for what NOT to do.   Grin

Glad you enjoyed the concert Chech. Hope you get to play with your balls today 2.  We are going to go over to Guntersville this afternoon to check out a new Bald Eagle's nest.  The eagles built it recently in a tree in a lake-side park where literally hundreds of people are walking/jogging/biking all the time. Very unusual that they nest so close to where humans are.

Take pics, NALT. I'll do you a favor and not post pics of me playing with my balls.

And I'll send pics from the hospital.

Liked the one where the woman says they just dropped the tree on their friend's pacle: "We just took out Matt's house".

BTW, before last night I'd never thought of the Righteous Brothers connection to the movie "Dirty Dancing" (below).  Bill Medley sang that.

LF and I have stayed at Mountain Lake Resort (VA) twice where DD was filmed.  I was never a fan of the movie, but cool to see the pacle where it was filmed.  We stayed in the cottage where the Baby's family stayed.

Part of it was also filmed at Lake Lure, NC, about an hour from here. There was a scene shot on the 16th green of a golf course that I played about 3 months ago.

They show this as a practice green, but it's actually a par 3. I double bogied it.  Sad

Cool about the golf course, 2.
I could have gotten 5, maybe 6 on that hole!

I'm safely back home.  Before going to help my friend with his chain saw, I decided to cut down a dead tree near our deck.  It took only about half an hour to get it done.  No problem with that.

My buddy's new saw didn't come with a chain-saw tool, but the new Stihl saws have twist knobs for gas and oil, so we managed.  He practiced cutting up some limbs, then worked over an old log.  No problems, but he was real hesitant to handle it.  It'll take practice.  He's a PhD; you know how screwy they can be!!

Glad there were no casualties, Chech.

I actually played well today, but it took it's toll on my sciatica. Came home and plugged into my tens unit and it helped some. Can't wait to get back to the chiropractor on Tuesday.

I'm telling you, get you an inversion table.  Might just keep you from having to go see the chiropractor very often...

I got mine off of Craigslist for about $100.  New you can get them for around $200+.

Good morning.  Coffee

It's raining hard, in buckets.  Storms with lightning started at 11pm, and continues now.  Just lots of heavy rain.  Flooding for sure today in this area.  Yuck.

Hunker down, Chech.

Yeah, that's just what we need is more rain. There are 2 golf courses where I live. One of them is shut down because of flooding. I saw a picture of downtown Greenville where the Reedy River was coming out of it's banks, threatening all the businesses that line it. There are still roads closed in the area due to flooding.

The impending rain can mean a disaster for this area. I know there are several areas in other states with the same problem. Unfortunately, this system is predicted to be as slow and wet as the last one.

Hate to hear about your flooding, but not surprised.  Same in this area, but worse for those in low-lying areas.  We're on a steep hill, so no worries.  But there will be a lot of folks with water in their homes with this storm, all the way from Louisiana to the Carolinas.  Same as last year, eh?

I can't get over how hard it's been raining here, almost all night.  There is a line of heavy thundershowers just plodding along here.
