now HALF the SEC teams are GONE in rd 1 Tennessee got blown OUT.......I DON'T CARE who they beat the 1st week of the season UGA was their regular self.........looked like the more athletic team and better on the court & in the 2nd half played terrible D & let WASHINGTON run away with the game VANDY..........where do I BEGIN? BY FAR the better team, but got so outcoached it was ridiculous Bama should've been in & thanks to the chokers already in the SEC, our conference looks terrible yet again.........so that when a sound, disciplined young team like Bama playing it's best basketball & some of the best in the SEC the last month of the reg season........we still can't sniff the tourney.........even after winning our division in what is supposed to be a POWER conference.... Thank you SEC and know one thing..........Bama will be back with a vengeance next year

I'll just post the quotes from the article Disappointed Anthony Grant is grateful for Tide's No. 1 seed in the NITPublished: Sunday, March 13, 2011, 9:42 PM Don Kausler Jr. "We certainly had hopes that we would be able to get an invitation, but obviously that didn't work out, so there's disappointment.
The thing we've got to be able to do is move on and understand we've got a great opportunity to continue our season and continue to try to play for a championship. We'll have to regroup in a short period of time." On leaving Bama out: "I really don't look at other teams, The committee's got a very tough process they have to go through. ...We're obviously disappointed that we did not make the field, but it is an invitational tournament. I certainly respect the decisions that were made." Ohio St AD Gene Smith (committee chairman) on Alabama in particular" "A lot of people put head-to-head as a high priority in their criteria for different situations
There were things with Alabama that didn't stack up compared to the other teams that became blemishes. All of these teams have blemishes and assets and things of that nature that paid attention to what their total resume was, and at the end of the day, they just didn't get enough votes." Grant on VCU making it in (GRRRR): "I've never looked at things that way, obviously I'm very happy for VCU and those kids that we had an opportunity to be a part of their lives. I wish them all of the best. Our situation is our situation." Grant on what Bama needs to do moving forward to be sure to make it in: "The process in terms of NCAA tournament selection appears to be a moving target, so you've got to evaluate what you need to do and how you need to do it" Click here for link

No I know it matters MD, but what I mean by that is if you win enough in conference or go on a long winning streak & have few losses look at SDSU, they get a 2 seed because of the long runs they went on w/o losing that gets you noticed. Bama will be so much more improved next year, just wait & see, this team will be hungry & mad ready to smash every team they play, Bama has too many young guys to forget what happened this year & CAG is a motivator

Andy Katz on the GT job & GT firing Hewitt • Georgia Tech isn't as wonderful a job as it is made out to be in a city that is a pro sports town. The Yellow Jackets may have a hard time finding someone to come for a lower price, which is what they may have to offer after paying millions to buy out Paul Hewitt. I'm not buying the Tubby Smith to Georgia Tech chatter at all. Smith has been quoted in local media reports that he's staying put in Minneapolis. I wouldn't be surprised if Georgia Tech does what Clemson did in hiring Wright State's Brad Brownell: hire a quality head coach who isn't as well-known.
As for Hewitt, he had the St. John's job last year if he wanted it. Now he's out at Georgia Tech. Considering the buyout he's likely to receive, at least he won't have to work. Click here for link

Coastal Carolina was upset in their conference tourney (expected to win it and got upset by UNC Asheville) they won the Big South reg season champ & only had 5 losses....
We'll hope to make it 6
They are actually VERY efficient on offense, 18th overall in the nation in PPG (77.4), 10th overall in the nation in rebounds PG (39.6), 24th overall in the nation in assists PG (15.6), & the scary stat........4th overall in the nation in field goal percentage (a blistering .490)
Losses were to College of Charleston, Georgetown (by 19), Garner-Webb, NC-Ashville, during the regular season & then in the tourney
As previously mentioned they beat LSU by 9 in OT

I expect us to play hard in the NIT and maybe even win it. Then come back next year with a vengeance and go deep in the tourney. Similar to the way the football team came back in 2009 after the loss in the SEC Championship game. Think about this: there is no way the players coming back next year are going to goof off at the beginning of the season after what happened this year. They are going to be dialed in and hard core from the jump next year.
I agree SC, & the scary thing is, we're in serious dire need of shooters & adding 2 of the best in state and both are SERIOUS upgrades over who we have at SG now, both are long lengthy guys as well. With what we have coming back (hopefully this will motivate J.Green to come back for his Sr year to join Mitchell & Moussa Gueye) The wild card though is Trevor Lacy, if we are able to add him & he qualifies, he takes our whole program to another level, very similar player to Dwayne Wade coming out of HS, easily the best out of the state since Gerald Wallace, a dynamic scorer that can put the team on his back and be "the guy" and easily put up 25 - 35 ppg in the SEC as a TF I think if given the opportunity. yeah, he's that good
