Our athletic period was in the morning and we were on the practice field and we were told what had happened when we came in. Sincwe are right by DFW airport we are use to seeing and hearing planes all the time.  It was very strange not seeing or hearing any during this time.  One of the landing/take off patterns is right over our practice field.

I was in my living room at that time I was out of a job and was searching. I saw it on TV and I got up and hugged my wife and daughter because I knew we were in for the long haul then. God Bless America. RTR!

I was the bindery manager for a printing company. I was pulling some print from a press when the pressman, who was listening to the radio, told me a plane flew into one of the twin towers. We both thought that a small plane must have had trouble or something and flown into it. At the time, we didn't know it was a commercial airliner. A bit later, he came to me and told me about the 2nd plane. I know the blood drained from my face when he told me that. My middle daughter had just started her freshman year at NYU. I had driven around the Bronx expressway years before, but knew nothing about Manhattan or where NYU was in conjunction with the WTC. NY city, if you remember, was on lockdown. It was 3 hours before my wife heard from her & she relayed to me that she was ok. It was the most gut wrenching 3 hours of my life.

I was in my house on campus at UA preparing breakfast when one of my roommates came in with a stunned look on his face and asked if I was "watching this?".  I asked what he was talking about and he said "a plane crashed into the World Trade Center."  I thought that's not something that happens every day then went back to preparing my breakfast.  A few minutes later I went to the living room and turned on the TV to see both towers ablaze.  Like Chechem, the moment it really hit me that it was something monumental was when the reports came of an explosion at the Pentagon.

I was a delivery driver at the time and had no Tuesday classes so I worked on Tuesdays. It was surreal going place to place, every person in every place watching TV or listening to the radio with the same stunned look on their face.  I don't think anybody even tried to talk to me about it.  No one really knew what to say.

I watched the movie 'United 93' with my Indonesian wife last night and neither one of us spoke for probably ten minutes after the movie.  It was the first time she realized the scope of the attack.  Afterwards I tried to explain the emotions of the day and the days that followed but even as I talked I knew I wasn't even close to explaining what those days were like.

I had a test that morning at 9:30.  Either Signals and Systems or Electric Networks - either way the same professor taught them and they were the hardest two classes I've ever taken.  I was driving into campus early (~7:45) to get a last hour and a half of studying in at Rodgers Library (engineering library).  As I was pulling in listening to Rick and Bubba (forgive me, I know better now) started talking about the trade center being on fire.  They had no idea what was going on at the time.  I went inside and studied.  Walked over to Houser Hall for my test and people in the room were talking about it.  I learned about the second tower being hit, and then someone came in and told us either the Pentagon or White House had been hit.

The professor came in and delayed the test.  He said it was the first time he'd postponed a test in 18 years of teaching.

I was stationed at Scott AFB, Illinois. in my 5th year in the Air Force.

Was working in the Sheet metal shop when someone came in and said a plane had crashed into a building in NYC. They thought it was a small plane. i went to the break room and watched as the whole thing unfolded. When the second plane hit I was standing beside my Wife (also in the Military) and our Commander. The Commanders phone suddenly statred going crazy and she ran out of the room.

The whole base became on lock down, and from that day on the Military has not been the same.
