Quote
1 SEC team that won all of its games played away from its home field during the 2011 season -- Alabama, which posted a 6-0 record away from Bryant-Denny Stadium.

1 Team in the nation that gave up fewer than 1,000 rushing yards in 2011. Alabama yielded 938 rushing yards this season to lead the nation in rushing defense for the third time. The Crimson Tide also led the nation in rushing defense in 1945 and 1992.

1 Team in the nation that gave up fewer than 4 yards per play in the 2011 season -- Alabama at 3.3 yards per play.....

Almost every one of those numbers made me think, "Wow."  I really liked this one:
13 Times that the AP poll's No. 1 team has been shut out, with Alabama's 21-0 victory over LSU in the BCS championship game the most lopsided shutout loss ever for the top-ranked team.   Laughing

Me too.
I might have missed it while away; did any of our members get their banners on TV for the BCSNCG?

Addendum:

1 and only time a team will win the BCSNC without winning its conference.  The poor TV ratings will ensure that it remains a 1.

I don't think so.

The ratings were low because it was on ESPN instead of ABC (cable/satellite instead of over the air).  A lot of people don't get ESPN.  ESPN is very pleased with the ratings.  I believe it was the second highest rating ever received by a cable network.  The people claiming low ratings are the people who didn't want to see the rematch.

The only cable game with higher ratings was Auburn v. Oregon.  And, Bama v. LSU was higher rated than several BCSNC games on networks, including Ohio State v. Miami in 2002, USC v. Oklahoma in 2004, Texas v. USC in 2005, and Alabama v. Texas in 2009.  So these complaints are more political than based on reality.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BCS_National_Championship_Game

You know some OkSt fans were watching, even T Boone admitted that Bama would have beaten them.
