Jones, who started the past two seasons as Alabama's right guard, has played four different spots on the offensive line this preseason - right guard, left tackle, left guard and center. That's at least what the media has either witnessed during media viewing periods, or has been told in interviews. No word on if he's worked at right tackle, but it wouldn't be surprising.

That gives Alabama various options in terms of plugging in players. For example, if true freshman Cyrus Kouandjio can win the left tackle job that would potentially allow Jones to move back to right guard, or even left guard.

The best part of that read sounds like Jones could be plugged in to another spot if someone goes down. We have not really had that before. Remember the Sugar Bowl, when Smith was out and someone got hurt.
What we have now is depth.

We have depth at guard. Jones is our depth at tackle and center. If CK does not come on fast at LT Jones may start there.

I'd like to see CNS give CK significant playing time in the Kent State game so he'll gain experience.

That is a great idea.  If he screws up too bad we can switch him out and still win the game.

CK holds that 322 lbs good. He doesn't look that heavy at all, just a tall big-o kid.
