SOMEBODY NEEDS TO NUKE THAT dang PLACE !

Sam Stellatella, a three-position player in the 1950s, has donated money to Sandusky's defense and urged other former players to do the same.

"I told him he's going to need a million dollars to defend himself," the 73-year-old Stellatella said. "He called me back and said, 'What am I going to do with this money?' I said, 'Use it for your lawyer because you're going to need it.' "

Stellatella sent Sandusky $100. He wrote personal letters to other members of the 1959 Liberty Bowl team that defeated a Bear Bryant-coached Alabama team and asked they also donate. He does not know how much money was raised.

Shocked   that's insane...how about $100 to a children's charity, ya nasty freak!  Angry

Penn State-Nebraska 'Blueout' gains momentum in Happy Valley

Since news of the Jerry Sandusky scandal first broke, Penn State students have debated what the appropriate response would be at Saturday's game against Nebraska.

The idea of a "blueout" has gained support. Now -- like the whiteout's that have become a signature of important home games -- the idea has its own T-shirt.

McLanahan's, a State College store, announced Friday it was selling "blueout" T-shirts. They feature a blue ribbon with the words "stop child abuse" and "beat Nebraska."

All proceeds from the sale will go toward Prevent Child Abuse PA, according to the store.

The "Whiteout" didn't stop Alabama from winning 27-11!

Sandusky house vandalized. He's lucky it wasn't a molotov cocktail.

Police in State College today said that vandals had attacked the home of former Penn State assistant coach Jerry Sandusky.

Penn State assistant Mike McQueary tells players he's in 'protective custody'

On Friday afternoon, according to two team sources, new receivers coach Kermit Buggs gathered his players in a room at the PSU football complex and allowed them to talk with McQueary on a speaker phone.

During a brief and emotional conversation, McQueary told them, “I wanted to let you guys know I'm not your coach anymore. I'm done.”

When players asked, "Coach, where are you? Can we see you?" McQueary responded, “No, I'm actually in protective custody. I'm not in State College.”

They need to cancel this game.  If anything bad happens it will only make this situation worse.  There is no good outcome that can happen if the game is played.  Even if the game is uneventful, the best case scenario is that they are criticized for continuing to put football at a higher priority than everything else.

I'm not a bug fan of vandalism-- Sandusky's house or not. Any attention drawn to PSU needs to be positive in nature or they "just keep digging".

I'm not sure there is any case at all to be made for Mike McQueary. But before I'm flamed for weakening my position:

Yes, we all agree he should have intervened at once. Stop it. He is a big boy- stomp a puddle in Sandusky.

Now this. It is likely that since he was a player, he has heard rumors of Sandusky. Everyone knows he likes boys. He finally sees it with his own eyes. The kid is not screaming for help. He is tortured by it-- talks to his Dad. His Dad says, "Enough is enough. Tomorrow we go to Paterno's house". They tell Paterno --not in the way Paterno says--but actually what he saw. He waits and nothing happens to Sandusky. His Dad says, "Well Son, we tried". Sandusky goes on his merry way.

I've already posted at least once, that I hope I would break it up and take the kid aside from Sandusky. But once this becomes accepted behavior (tolerated by Paterno and the athletic department) is McQueary supposed to risk his livlihood to change not an instance, but AN ENTIRE CULTURE at PSU?  This at least deserves him being heard out--unlike Paterno and his bosses. They deserve jail.

Try and remember--when you SLAM me, that I did not rape anyone. TIA

I would have been shocked right up until the time I hit Sandusky and yelled for the child to run.

I would have not even thought about my livlihood. More reason to stop it if you had heard stories before. He was 26 at the time and knows right from wrong.

Paterno waited 10 days before he went to the AD and VP after McQueary and his dad had the meeting....

I have read in 2 places that McQueary's dad went with him to Paterno's house. All the McQueary's need to do is tell the truth about what Paterno was told about the incident.

I don't know how I feel about McQueary. I have mixed emotions. He saw what he saw. He was upset about it and phoned his Dad. He and his Dad met with CJP the next morning. CJP turned it over to the AD. The AD and others talked to McQueary about it. Later in the same month the AD reported back to him that they had taken care of the situation. Should he have done more. Hindsight tells us yes. Keep in mind this was a young guy that most likely was trying to feed a family. He had a job of a lifetime and he was concerned that if he made any noise he was gone and blackballed by CJP. I'm leaning toward giving this guy a pass.

Everyone getting all sanctimonious about him. It is not that cut and dried. They (the PSU people) are, in my opinion, trying to deflect attention away from Paterno. His excuse or story, is at least worth listening to--that is all I am saying.

I think all of their stories are worth listening too.  Then run the guilty ones over with the bus.

When I was 26, I was a surface electrician working on new prep plants in the coal mining industry with men from Alabama, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. I didn't take any crap mainly because I couldn't afford to because of my fellow workers, if you know what I mean!

Penn State prepares for the strangest game ever

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. – If this weren’t such a small town, the following would qualify as an urban legend. Instead, call it a semi-rural legend:

Word is, Jerry Sandusky went shopping on Wednesday.

At Dick’s Sporting Goods.

Two workers at the store told me Friday that it was true – but said they weren’t in the store at the time and didn’t see him personally. Four other workers stiffly declined comment. Nobody refuted the story.

If it’s true – Sandusky shops while Penn State burns – it is one more offensive twist in the worst week this school has ever seen.

Deposed legend Joe Paterno is hunkered down at home, dealing a high-powered defense attorney and a PR specialist. The school is flailing for direction with a stop-gap president and athletic director. Rod Erickson was elevated to the top administrative position Friday.

Mark Sherburne is acting AD. Interim coach Tom Bradley tries to pull together a staff missing its receivers coach (Mike McQueary) deposed to administrative leave and with another offensive assistant presumably quite distracted (Jay Paterno). Players have seen their last home game of 2011 turned into a sideshow.

Everyone is wondering why McQueary has not been cut loose with the others. Fact is, many states have "whistle-blower" laws where the person that first reports a violation of the law is protected. McQueary, as far as we know, did not go to the police, but did report to someone of authority, what he saw. I don't know what the state of Pennsylvania's statutes on this are, but he may be protected.
