Quote
The summer football coach of former Wooddale High and current Auburn University running back Jovon Robinson said he was interviewed by the NCAA this month.

Byron De'Vinner of Nashville told The Commercial Appeal Wednesday that the NCAA representative's questions were broad in nature and weren't specific to the team he coached.

"It wasn't about Jovon Robinson in particular," De'Vinner said. "It was basically just asking questions about how are 7-on-7s run, things in those nature." ...

Bottom line: this is a broad NCAA investigation about how recruits are contacted, handled, and how much contact they have with schools.

BTW, reports are out that Jovon had an arrest months ago that involved a car without a license plate, and suggestions that the car was a gift...

... or maybe the car's not in his name, so he can't buy a tag.  In truth, there's little chance that anyone associated with Aub bought him a car.  It appears to be family money.  Regardless, he's unlikely to ever see the field at Aubland after this transcript fiasco.  In the least, he'll spend a year elsewhere.  Then?  Tenn?

The "summer coach" seems shady.  He says he was asked to put together a 7-on-7 team, and now admits the NCAA is investigating.  Looks like the NCAA may be investigating Byron De'Vinner as much as investigating Jovon.  Check out this interview with De'Vinner from last April: Click here for link

Friday morning:

97.3 (The Zone) discussing Jovon's eligibility.  The NCAA is moving slowly, and the discussion centered on Jovon redshirting at Aubs this year.  They don't think he'll be cleared in time otherwise.  The big question is whether his core courses in high school were passed.  Without that, he can't play.

THEN, if his grade changes had a more sinister motive (more than a counselor feeling sorry for him), then he'll never play at Aubs.  LONG way to go yet on this, and the NCAA seems in no hurry to solve it.

I just can not understand how these people could mess with a young man and his life like this. These are the people who should spin some time in jail. I truly wonder if it will bother his mental capacity. RTR!

LOL on this Aub's comments about the Jovon saga.  I highlighted the dumb parts):

Quote
Do not believe every single thing you read and here, ESPECIALLY if it comes from “anti-Auburn” avenues such as The Paul Slimebaum Show, The New York Times, Thayer Evans, etc. The usual hack jobs that allow their titles to make them believe that their word is law and their opinion means more than fact. Just sit back and allow this situation to pan  out. KEEP IN MIND, why would the coaching staff or even a rogue booster risk all for a four star running back? It is not as though Robinson will change the entire culture of Auburn Football. Will he be a good RB for Auburn in the future, yes I believe so, but why would this be the one guy that Auburn used “illegal” means in order to get him to Auburn. That just does not add up. Add in the fact that Alabama is having their own issues with Ralph Cindrich as well as the transfer of DT Darius Paige from Pensacola to Foley, AL. Auburn is set to have a big year in recruiting for the 2013 year which has been Chizik’s plan since he arrived four years ago. Let this all play out and Auburn will come out on top. Until next time, I believe in Auburn and love it…….
