Just to follow up, this is similar to how typing : ) gets translated to Smiley

There is no good combination of colons and parenthesis to use as a short cut for something like dead horse, so you just have text short cuts within two colons, since that would never be typed into a real post (unless you are showing someone the code for a smiley).

It's the image... the concept is great!

Thanks Jody.  I agreed with you once you mentioned it, but I wanted to make sure I understood what you were saying.  The current image has kind of a goofy smile with those big eyes.  Maybe we can find a better image to use.

Huh?  Are all of the emoticons under "more" just simple :texts: instead of emoticon graphics?  If so, I say delete them.

No, that text is the shortcut you can type into your post to show the emoticon.  That way you don't have to go to the more screen.  Also the Quick Reply does not have any smiley buttons.  If you know the code you can just type it in.  So you literally would type :dunno: into your post where you want the smiley to show up.

NOTE:  I used a special code in my post so that it shows you the actual short cut text instead of the smiley.

So are you seeing the 2 colons and word "dance" when I type Dancing or are you seeing the graphic thingy?

I'm seeing the text only.
