I will say Lame goes first. The first day after their last defeat leading to no bowl game. Let's go with Dec. 1.

I think we learn about Mack Brown leaving first.

The "fire Mack Brown" fire has been burning longer at Texas, and they're more serious about their football.  They've given him his chance, but the "chairman of the board" approach to coaching is old school; Texas needs someone who actually coaches in charge.  Otherwise, why pay him all those millions?  They've invested hundred of millions in their facilities, not to mention the flailing contingency of the Longhorn network, so they have more at stake.  Yes, he has a national championship, but that was yesterday.  I'd be surprised if he lasts the entire season -- the Oklahoma game sits ominously on the horizon.

USC is in a unique situation with scholarship limits and a reduced number of players, giving Lame some excuse, plus making it harder to replace him.  USC is accustomed to success, but has never really put much effort into achieving it, at least as an institution.  They have not invested the money that Texas has.  I think Kiffin makes it to the end of the season, then they fire him.

As hscoach said, Texas has the inside track for recruiting every kid in that state.
Think what LSU has done over the years by keeping in-state talent.
UTx should NEVER want for talent; should always be loaded.

Time for a change.  Kiss

Texas plays Ole Miss Saturday night, Hugh Freeze could make some headlines early in his career at Ole Miss.

Southern Cal plays Boston College next at home, if they lose that game I think the fat lady sings.

I agree with both of these. One thing I will say though, if Mack looses to Ole Miss the Fat Lady just fell down with her soprano voice. RTR!

Mack's buy-out is going to be larger than Lame's. That's why I think he'll be gone sooner.

I still think Bobby P will be one of the first contacted by one of these programs.  Also, how long will Kansas put up with Charlie Weis?

Charlie Weiss is a joke, but so is Kansas' football program.

I'd venture there are more Texas fans (with 10-gal hats and $Billion assets) than USCw fans (with berets and $Million assets).  And the Texans spend theirs more freely.

If CNS made himself available, I'll bet Texas fans would outbid any other fanbase.

I know Missouri is 2-0 but they have not been impressive wins. I think Gary Pinkel will be lucky to keep his job. Even joining the SEC could not put any excitement in that program. It is time to re-energize that program IMO.

The rumors will fly rampant again that CNS is going to Tejas, but that will not happen, regardless of the moolah. Kiffin is a punk and I'm betting Pat Hayden is already tired of his act. I think Hayden grudgingly will let him last to season's end.

CNS is going to Texas.  Probably Thursday.  But he will be back by Sunday.
