Alabama dominated the field and easily advanced out of its Tuscaloosa NCAA regional to qualify for the NCAA championships.

Led by a terrific floor exercise, Alabama finished with 197.125 points and thoroughly bested second-place California (195.925) to win its 12th consecutive regional and clinch its 34th consecutive championship appearance. The Crimson Tide will compete at the NCAA championships in Fort Worth April 15-16.

If you have never been to a gymnastics event with six teams participating, you should try it sometime. I've never seen so much going on at one time and it's amazing how the ladies keep focused on what they should be doing when they are competing.

We win easily. Before the SEC Championship I thought this was a down year and our streak of Regional wins and Final appearances might be in jeopardy. It now looks like Coach Ductworth has the team peaking at the right time.

They struggled on the beam again but other than, they were very impressive.

I agree with Jamos. It is a terrific atmosphere. I doubt it is like that in most venues But Sarah Patterson created something special at Alabama. I wish Alabama basketball atmosphere could match it.

Why are we struggling on the beam? Just need more practice time? I know we have a new coach but I hope they all peak for the Nationals at the right time. RTR!
