I don't put much stock in what Scarb usually writes.  This excerpt however, actually makes sense...

At this point, it doesn't matter what you or I think Battle should do about Grant. It only matters what Battle and his advisors think, and don't forget this factor. Battle never intended to stay in the AD's job for a long time. Does he want to make a change when it's unlikely he would be around for the bulk of a new coach's tenure?

One thing seems clear, though, in this cloudy crystal ball. If Battle makes a coaching change, he'll upset the players, who still believe in their head coach. If he doesn't make a change, he'll upset a good number of his fans who don't.

The players will get over it.

Well, some will if they want to continue playing at Bama.  Others might hold some hard feelings for a long time but those might be the one's that are graduating/leaving Bama... You're still right though.  Most of the players are not like many fans that start calling for someone's job the first time the team fails to make the NCAA tourney...

I agree I want a coach who has honesty and integrity. I also want them to graduate players and recruit good kids that stay out of trouble. I also want to win. There is no reason we can not have both at a school like Alabama.
