If the rest of the college football is hacked at the SEC for winning championships, then do something about it like earn it on the field.

Defense rules and until these teams figure this out and put together one to compete with us, nothing going to change.

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.

I think the 'SEC fatigue' factor will come into play in the human polls.  More folks will look for reasons to downplay the ability of SEC teams so SEC will have to earn it on the field.  Thus games like Bama-Michigan become very significant.

As a dark horse remember USCw.  Scholly restrictions will hurt but they have some good players coming back and could run the table in the PAC-12.

The SEC is definitely riding the crest now, and everybody else knows it, is jealous, and wants to stop the ride.

Maybe the idiots will propose something like Little League World Series: one team must be from outside the SEC.

It wouldn't surprise me at all and the rule would probably state the the other team had to be from the Big 12, Pac 10, or the Big 10.  Wink

The answer is yes. I understand those who think that things are cyclical and that this won't last forever, but I'm not sure about that. Merk linked us to a great article in the WSJ (or was it Forbes) about the valuation of CFB teams. The data show a huge gap between the top 15 teams an the rest.  These top 15 teams define the elite college football teams that have a chance at a Nat'l title. The others, frankly, don't.  The list is dominated by teams from the south, with a couple left coast teams. While there may be cycling within that top 15 teams, I don't see how membership in that elite group will change much. The question then becomes whether the size and nature of that elite group leaves it capable of capturing national attention as it has over the past 20 years. Will the other 105 teams essentially give up the arms race of coaching hires and facilities improvements, and stop trying to compete at a national level. If so the success of the SEC may be killing the golden goose.

I remember earlier in the season, columnists were writing that this was a weak year for SEC teams. Some weak year!

Anybody have a total for how SEC teams did in bowls, so I don't have to look it up?

Many thanks. Not bad considering we had some of our average teams in bowls.
