Morning! Cool and cloudy in Tuscaloosa this morning. End of month means a late work night for me, so I'll be spending some time on the bike and running before going in this afternoon.

They’re irrelevant.

The images are heartbreaking. I spent a week in Korea with my wife in our first year of marriage and a couple of weeks with a team from seminary two years later. In my travels Korea was one of my favorite places.

I couldn't help but think of all the times I was in extraordinarily crowded places in China and how easily something like this could have happened.

Morning, all! I didn't watch much of the action yesterday. I turned on the Penn St/OSU and OSU immediately went ahead and took control. I turned on the UF/UGA when Florida got within 8 and UGA pulled away. A&M/OM was entertaining, I just couldn't decide how I wanted that one to go. I'd kind of like to face a deflated Ole Miss team in a couple of weeks.

Morning, all! Beautiful day here. I should be riding and running outdoors on this perfect day, but with back pain and sinus junk I’m going to stay in so I can shut it down if I need to.

I was busy, just not here.

It was good to see Bama play a solid game last night. The defense gave up some yards against a good offense, but only the one score. Offense played well, though Bryce's throws seemed a little off. Hopefully he's back to himself by Nov 5 - LSU and Ole Miss aren't great, but good enough to beat us if the team that showed up Knoxville shows up in BR or Oxford.

I've got some Cuban mojo beef going in the Instant Pot for after church lunch - getting my taste buds primed for my trip to Miami in three weeks.

Happy game day! Perfect October weather in Tuscaloosa today - 52 right now and projected to be 72 at kickoff.

My gut says the team got embarrassed last week and they’re going to dominate tonight.

I’m off to work, then coming home for a couple of hours on the bike before kickoff. Skillet pork chops and mashed potatoes with gravy on the game day menu at Phil’s kitchen tonight.

Happy Friday! It’s homecoming weekend, and we’re feeling it with non-stop catering at work today, on top of normal business. Weather is cool and crisp, but not uncomfortable. It’s a great weekend for some football. Bama by 40 tomorrow.

No lie, by the end of 2016 I was so fat and out of shape I couldn’t tie my shoes without laboring to breathe and breaking a sweat. Blood pressure was high, bloodwork showed me pre-diabetic.

I decided I didn’t want to live life that way and, Lord willing, didn’t want my daughter to grow up without a father, or grow up with a father who couldn’t move.

Happy Friday Eve! Had a good day in the pool this morning, finally hitting 7 minutes on the nose for my monthly 400 yard speed test.

Happy Hump Day! 30 here right now. Glad I don’t have to go outside any time real soon. Fueling up for today’s indoor workouts with blueberry pancakes and Conecuh sausage.
