Merry Christmas Day everybody.  Good article here.  IMHO, if the difference in our class being #1 vs. #2 or even #3 is merely one QB prospect, then I'm da#@ happy with our class as is.

After the switch of Daphne running back T.J. Yeldon, 247sports.com moved Alabama up to No. 1 while ESPN.com ranks Ala­bama third, behind Texas and Florida State.

"We do it by formula," Shurburtt said. "Our com­puter does it. Alabama is No. 1 right now after getting two four-star commits from JUCOs (Travell Dixon and signee Deion Belue) this week. It's still very close be­tween them and Texas. The Longhorns have a really good shot at landing Dorial Green-Beckham, the No. 2 player in the nation."

ESPN believes Texas' class still outshines the oth­ers, but Luginbill believes the gap between the Crim­son Tide and Seminoles hinges on one Jameis "Jaboo" Win­ston.

"The only difference is the quarterback," Luginbill said, referring to Winston, a Seminole commitment.

"Yeldon, being one of the best running backs in the nation, fills a need," Shur­burtt said. Tide commitment Ke­nyan Drake "is more of an all-purpose guy. He can move to the slot and return kicks, but Yeldon is an ev­ery- down player."

Luginbill believes Yeldon helps Alabama with depth -- especially if Trent Rich­ardson departs for the NFL.

 Where will defensive back Landon Collins wind up? The safety from Louisi­ana is rated a five-star across the board and his destina­tion is considered a toss-up between homestate LSU and Alabama.

How does Auburn's recruiting stack up nation­ally? Even with the loss of Yeldon, the Tigers have a top-20 class. Auburn's crop is ranked 13th by 247sports and 18th by ESPN.

2 birds with one stone. That leaves an open scholly. Sweet!

We have two kickers on scholarship. Cade Foster was great in HS. He was a goog FG kicker and kicked into the end zone regularly. We also have Jay Williams from Thomasville who is a RS freshmen punter. He has not seen the field yet.

I hope this kid from Georgia is the real deal. Shelly will be back for short FG but we need a good kicker who is solid from 50 yd in. We also need help with kick offs. A punter who can flip the field is always a plus.
