In a written statement, Taylor said he respected Florida State but looked forward to playing nose guard at Alabama.

Taylor was planning to play offensive line for the Seminoles, but rumor is that he now wants to play defensive line -- a position at which Florida State does not have room, and at which it has not offered Taylor.
 
Alabama apparently has room for Taylor to play defensive line. Taylor is rumored to have attempted to commit to Alabama earlier last week, but at the time, Alabama is rumored not to have accept the commitment. NCAA rule prohibits schools from commenting on recruits. It appears the Tide now has room.
 
Taylor is a better fit for offensive line than defensive line, because his reactions are slow. But if he improves in that area, perhaps Alabama can use him at nose guard. Taylor certainly has the physical ability to play the position, but some players are better suited for offense, where they know where to go before the snap. If nose guard doesn't work, the Tide will have a good offensive tackle prospect. Either way, Taylor needs a lot of work. He's very, very raw at offensive tackle. Taylor offers impressive power and surprising quickness for his size. He's potentially a very good prospect.
 

So "his reactions are slow," but he offers "surprising quickness for his size?"  Something doesn't sound right about that analysis.  He sounds like a big, strong athlete who would need coaching on either side of the ball.  Welcome to the Crimson Nation, Alphonse!

You can sign 28 but only 25 can be placed on scholarship. That leaves room for three that do not make it into school or grayshirts.

I stopped worring about the numbers. CNS has a plan.

He's too big for a Charger, so he must have received a full size pickup. Probably an F-150 Ford since Saban is tight with Ford dealership.

I just spoke to some of Taylor's family members
all I can say now is that this deal is a bit screwy ...
some of his family aren't happy about his decision to switch
not because it's Alabama but more because of what FSU has told them  
I'm trying to work it out so we can go to a game together and
I'll try to find out more ...
one thing is for sure , the kid has his mind set on playing for the Tide
he will still have to convince his family he made the right choice though

Alabama uses two extra tackles in jumbo package lined up outside both tackles. Bama had 3  injuries to the 2nd team tackles playing in the jumbo package positions requiring season ending surgery. I hope they are all recovering well. Never can have enough of these great offensive lineman.

The 6-foot-6, 350-pound Taylor was rated the No. 9 Birmingham News Preseason Super Senior after committing to the Seminoles last April.

Taylor is ranked the No. 16 offensive guard in the nation by Rivals.com, which also has him listed as a Crimson Tide commitment now.
