Title: Kiffin staying at Bama through the playoffs

No matter what. (http://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/18197284/lane-kiffin-says-season-alabama-sec-title)  I'm glad he is doing this.  He needs to finish what he started...  #+ #+ #+

He throws well enough.

Especially when he can also do this!!

My question is why can't he do this more often. It seems like he rushes his throws and I am not throwing off on a young QB I just don't see why he throws so long or in such tight coverage like when he hit Calvin 5 yards behind the LOS and there was 3 men standing there waiting on him. A big loss. RTR!

1. The pass to Calvin was a play where his first read was DEEP.  The man was covered.  His next read was Ridley, who was open.  It was the correct throw, but well played by UF.

2. The deep throws against man-to-man defenses are good throws.  Most receivers will win that or keep it from being intercepted.  One-on-one plays deep are acceptable to most OC.

3. Compare Hurts to Appleby (UF QB), who threw off his back foot when rushed, which led to interceptions.  Appleby is a 5th-year player (graduate student).  Hurts has learned to throw the ball away when pressured.  BTW, his "bad pass" at the goalline during the first half was a throwaway -- both receivers were covered (according to Eli Gold).  He's not perfect, but Jalen Hurts' ability to read defenses, throw relatively well, and run like a RB makes him FAR better than most any other SEC QB this year; among the best in the nation.

Preacher, those are an effort by Lane Kiffin to "loosen" up the defense to allow our offense to be able to run the ball better.  They are frustrating though because after watching film on Bama other teams are expecting those type plays and are starting to defend them better and better...

OK I got an idea now. It just when your sitting watching on computer and it looks like your right on top of the play it seems like the speed of the game is not as fast as it actually is going I guess. RTR!

Any word on the Houston thing?  I never saw confirmation that he actually went there and interviewed on Sunday.

Supposedly, the job is his. They are just trying to finalize the terms of his buyout. (Houston's, not ours). The good news is that he will be with us throughout the playoffs.

I've searched google news and there isn't a record of the interview meeting actually even taking place.  I have seen some of the rumor sites that say Houston wants a big buyout to keep him from leaving, but I have no idea if they actually know what they are talking about or are just making crap up to get people to click on their site.

I had heard it from a source who is pretty dead on most of the time. Things can always change, though. I personally think that Kiffin would be a good fit for Houston.

Sounds like the lawyers and agents are in negotiations.  Could be a while, especially since university lawyers are involved.

Either way, HE GONE.

CLK sure looks like he is having a blast.  Don't be shocked if he stays another year or two until the right opportunity comes along.  Right now he has all the leverage.  If the negotiations aren't going his way, both sides know that he can just stay at Bama another year, learn more from CNS, develop Hurts, and compete for another national championship.  CNS has vouched for him to be a head coach again, so no need to take the first option that comes along out of desperation.  There will be plenty of options, even more each year that he stays.  CLK has all the cards at this point.  I think he will leave soon, but only if it is a really good opportunity.  No way he goes to LSU to be the OC, for example.  Houston would probably be a good opportunity if they can agree on terms, but I doubt he will agree to an outrageously prohibitive buyout clause.

Hey SC I really how bad CLK is wanting to leave Alabama? If he stays another year and goes into another NCG college all over the world are going to want him and Coach Sark will be more settled. He will probably go with him and then they can have a classic combo coaching staff. Coaches all over will want to coach with him because of the CNS effect. I just think it is really more in his best interest to stay another year then he will be like a 5* recruit for coaches. RTR!

Kiff to USF rumors are rumbling but I doubt any of the writers have any inside info.  Cristobal to USF might make some sense.

OK Cristobal I could believe maybe but Clk never. He is going to be reached out to for a high profile jobs. After spending this time with CNS he will make a good coach but not a good HC. I just don't think CLK has the temperament for a HC job and winning the CFP. RTR!

Quote
While Lane Kiffin remains a candidate at South Florida, he may not have an endorsement from a member current staff.
David Reaves is the Bulls associate head coach/tight ends coach. Reaves is also Kiffin's soon-to-be-former brother-in-law. Kiffin's wife, Layla, filed for divorce in March citing "irreconcilable differences."
One source close to the South Florida search told CBS Sports "that well has been poisoned" in regards to Kiffin's candidacy at South Florida.

Okay, Ricky, take a chill pill.

Art Briles may be Alabama's next OC.   :lol2:

Ricky won't be the only one needing a chill pill if this happens. Sign me up for one.

CNS has gotta know there will be a 'sand' storm if he does this.  So if Bryles gets hired, then CNS has gotta think it's worth it.

He ain't even baptist, and I KNOW CNS ain't gonna put up with him letting stuff go that is bad for our men. Some coach, some forgive, some report...

Briles just sued Baylor officials today.  (I thought he'd already done that but I guess not.)  To me, this situation is just too messy.  Litigation will go on for a few years.

http://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/18238961/art-briles-sues-baylor-officials-libel-conspiracy

As for reporting -- the question "What did the HC know and when did he know it?"  has not been answered.

As for forgiving -- without knowing who knew what and when....it's hard to say who did wrong and what wrong they did.

Just a mess..

I forgive easy myself. I don't judge I am not allowed to. I do however have in my heart that we don't need him at Alabama because CNS is running a rehab coaching clinic but only 2 coaches at a time please. RTR!
