Pray I can't fault a guy trying to work for a living. Don't get too upset because if the season is locked out...we could be hearing this for another season. Cheesy

I am kind of thinking with the money he gets he don't care how much we complain. I think he gets paid for sleeping. RTR!

No, he's an attention wh**e who can't stand not to be in the limelight. He has to feel important and "loved." That's why he left the Packers hanging a few years ago. He wanted to feel like he was appreciated and needed from the Packers. This from a 38 year old man.

   What?

The whole panther thing is really confusing.

Apparently all of these north american large cats are catamounts, mountain lions, cougars, etc, all the same animal.  Panther being the general term.

Now, the mountain lions of the east (aka cougars) and endangered, they apparently do not exist in numbers great enough to breed in the east anywhere except southern florida.  I have a hard time with this, I think we all have mountain lion stories?  Maybe just big bobcats, IDK?

The southern Florida cougars are subspecies.

There are no black panthers in north america.

1.  Yes, the cougars, mountain lions, etc are all the same animal (same species);
2.  The Eastern Mountain Lion is extinct; those in Florida (Florida Panther) are a subspecies of the Mountain Lion;
3.  There is a long history of sightings of big cats elsewhere, including Alabama, but no official records, no road kills, no conclusive pics.  Florida seems to have the only living members of this species.
4.  BTW, the "Black Panthers" of rumor and folklore apparently have never been in the US.  "Black panthers" are actually melanistic Jaguars, another species, the big cat of Central and South America.  They exist in zoos, old movies, and the wilds.  Melanistic Panthers have never occurred; thus, never in the US.

Please, no jokes about the black-panther humans. :eye roll:

My aunts live in an assisted living facility in Thorsby, Al, and they say someone saw a panther in the woods behind their house. This was confirmed by multiple sightings. I guess he roamed up here from Florida. As for Favre, he is becoming as much of a joke as Chad Ochocinco, I mean Johnson. These guys simply cannot stand to not be in the limelight.

Are panthers kinda/sorta like mountain lions?

 Rolling on the floor lauging

Seriously though, is this country so desperate for football that we would be willing to watch yet another Favre saga?

Yes, many unofficial sightings.  Miss Dept Fisheries, etc offered a reward over a 5-year period for anyone who could get a confirmed sighting.  Lots of stories, but no records of a mountain lion in Mississippi, live or dead (including old newspaper accounts and such).  They thought someone would have a published account of a road kill.  Never been one in Mississippi apparently.  The ones in Florida are in southern Florida; not likely to wander that far north (they have radio collars for tracking).

I believe they are a myth  Wink  Click here for link

The debate continues... We get so many phone calls at Listen to the Eagle about large black cat sightings here in our state. The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks adamantly denies the presence of large black cats. And, nobody has seemed to get actual proof that black panthers live here. But the stories (and your photos and video) keep coming in.

Check out the video we received from Mike Ward from Mobile, Alabama. He and his daughter were hunting (and recording) from their deer stand.

   What?

^^ This.  What's sad is this guy is going to not be remembered as one of the greats; he's going to be remembered as a pathetic egomaniac playing far beyond his athletic abilities as they deteriorate.

Joe Louis' legacy was tarnished by his beating by Rocky Marciano.  Should have quit in his prime.  Now, Fah-rah will likely be punch drunk and end up a greeter at Caesar's Palace.

Mountain lions are supposed to cover long distances. Maybe Favre can be Trump's VP choice on the attention ho ticket.

Did I mention the escapes from captivity?

Even though the tail looks short for a jaguar, this (in the video) appears to be a melanistic jaguar (not a jaguarundi = smaller version with longer tail).  They are not naturally occurring east of the Mississippi River.
