I think the Oklahoma State-Oklahoma game is known as the Battle of Bedlam or something like that.

Yes, it's called the Bedlam Series I think.

The dig at Skip Bayless is the best part of the article.

What does that mean? Bedlam? Oklahoma? I hate Bayless but I don't get it! What did I miss?

The rivalry between Oklahoma and OK St is called the "Bedlam Series."  Skip Bayless is an Oklahoma native.  He has been degrading the SEC and our game with LSU and has been calling the OK/OKSt game the game of the year and the national championship decider.  I assume Finebaum was poking fun at him, but I could be wrong.

BTW, the Bedlam Series record is 82-16-7.  Real quality series.

Thanks. OK's version of Iron Bowl or Backyard Brawl nickname for the rivalry. That was what I was missing. I may pee on Bayless' head if his hair was on fire.

The last time I remember a college game of this magnitude was 1971 Oklahoma-Nebraska.

Alabama vs Florida in the SEC Championship game in 2009 was pretty big. Both teams unbeaten with the winner advancing to the BCSCG. The teams were ranked 1 & 2.

You're right, pmull. But what I was getting at was the hype. For those of you that remember, The Ok-Neb game was hailed "The game of the century".

In order to satisfy the FCC "truth in advertising" policy, to call something the "greatest" or "the best" or any other superlative, you are required to be able to prove "at least average quality."

Glad you got a chuckle out of it, 2, but I was serious. I guess "truth in advertising " is kind of funny. I can't think of an example off hand, but to call your product the greatest, it has to be at least average. The whole thing is so subjective it can't be qualitatively defined anyway. In this case the "product" would be the game.

Not according to a federal class action lawsuit, which claims that not only does Skechers falsely advertise the health benefits of its Shape-Ups shoes, but that the shoes can actually cause injury.

Skechers claims in its advertisements that wearing Shape-Ups can result in noticeable physiological improvements, including weight loss, firmer and stronger muscles, reduced cellulite, improved circulation, and improved posture. These claims, Skechers says, are based on results shown in four clinical studies. According to the class action lawsuit, however, these claims are false.

You wouldn't think a good Notre Dame guy like that would look you in the eye and lie to you.
