I just want to throw this out there.  This concerns the play where Norwood was hit late.  To be honest I don't think he was down.  I thought he was laying on top of the LSU player and could have gotten up to run.  However, that being said, I did think the LSU player came in with the crown of the helmet and could have been called for targeting.  Your toughts.

Watching the replay last night I noticed he may have not been down. He appeared to be on top of a LSU player. I don't know if the whistle had blown. The ref's took a long time on the field discussing the play. I think the flag was throw for targeting and after the ref's had their discussion they decided to let the player stay in the game but they had to call something. I do not think it was a late hit. It was targeting or nothing IMO.

I agree, coach. I started yelling for the targeting flag as soon as I saw the replay. I couldn't tell at first where he hit Norwood as the play happened. I think he definitely led with the crown of his helmet.

Right, coach.  I don't think Norwood was down, and that's why the LSU player hit him.  The hit wasn't late, but the technique was wrong.  I believe the fact that Norwood was still live played a role in why they didn't throw him out.

I have to ask this.  Have you ever seen Saban have such a reaction after a game?  I don't think he has reacted like that even in the NC games.

We were discussing that in another thread, Coach. It was so good to see Saban that happy. Bamaphil posted "Best scene of the season". I agree!

I think the LSU game is so big for Saban that he was literally beside himself. Plus, this is the las LSU game for AJ. I think he was happy for McCarron.

I am going to watch again and see if I can hear a whistle.   I don't think Norwood was down, but I will check that also.  The flag was legit because of him leading with the helmet.

Agreed 100%.  The legitimate flag should have included "targeting" too though.

Watching once again this is what I saw on the play with Norwood.  First he was not down.  Second I did not hear a whistle.  Third and the deciding factor the LSU led with the crown of the helmet and they could have made the targeting call and ejected the player.

Something else I noticed on the 3rd and 1 right before the fake punt.  One of two people were wrong. Either the TE was suppose to got to the outside or Fowler was.  It looked like the same play Yeldon scored on at the goal line.  On that play the TE went outside and the fullback filled in inside.

Gary Danielson was on Finebaum talking about the LSU game.

He pointed out that each team only had the ball 3 times during the 2nd half!

WOW!  It was true.
