Andrew Steele is back on the Alabama basketball team.

His college career appeared to be over in June when he accepted a medical scholarship after the effects of a fourth concussion lingered. The former star at John Carroll Catholic High School in Birmingham had been serving as a student coach.

But the junior guard has been cleared medically to rejoin the team, and he could play as soon as Tuesday night when the Crimson Tide meets Georgia Tech in Atlanta.

"I'm excited to finally get back on the court," Steele said Monday. "At one point, I thought I might not get the chance again, so to get back out there with my teammates and do something I love to do is one of the best feelings ever."

I really don't know what to make of this. He's an excellent defender, but brings very little to scoring. We might want to use his spot for a scholarship for a big man.

 Huh?

I didn't know he was even in the picture anymore, we'll have to see what he brings to the table. He must have been doing some conditioning and scrimmaging to even be considered to play right away.  Huh?

Yeah, he will have to make a major contribution to prove his worth. We already play good defense, but we need rebounding & scoring. If he can rebound effectively, that might make his return wothwhile. This will be interesting. I wish him the best.

Steele had a good game against GT.  He is going to contribute this year.
