BIRMINGHAM, Alabama -- Let BCS chaos officially begin. Alabama got the loss it needed when Iowa State shocked No. 2 Oklahoma State 37-31 tonight in double overtime, opening the door for the debate on what one-loss team should play for the national title.
The upset leaves LSU as the only undefeated team from a major conference. Alabama will likely move to No. 2 in the BCS on Sunday assuming it defeats Georgia Southern on Saturday, potentially setting up an Alabama-LSU rematch in New Orleans on Jan. 9.
Alabama and Oregon become the top one-loss contenders to play LSU for the BCS Championship Game, and Oklahoma will try to make a case too. If those three one-loss teams win out, there will be arguments for and against all of the teams.
