Title: Carson Tinker
Post by: bama57 on May 13, 2014, 12:40:56 PM
I bought his book for my Mom for Mother's Day. I went ahead and at 91 young years of age I gave it to her on Thursday and she has already read it and STRONGLY urged me to read it! Anyone else read this book?

This book is awesome.  Everybody go buy it.  Right this minute.

Here is an excerpt about the national championship game against Texas:

Quote
I have many great memories of that game— especially our big plays—but for me the pregame ceremony really sticks out. Running out of that tunnel into the famed Rose Bowl Stadium and seeing all the people and those thousands of camera flashes was a humbling and thrilling experience.

Josh Groban sang the National Anthem, accompanied on bass guitar by Flea from the Red Hot Chili Peppers. As Groban sang the words, “And the rockets’ red glare, the bombs bursting in air,” a barrage of fireworks went off behind the stage. Then after they finished, more fireworks lit up the sky. As Flea was walking off the field toward our sideline, he looked at Brian Selman and me square in the eyes and said, “Roll Tide!” We got a kick out of that.

I would have finished it sooner, but I decided to make a midnight run to Krystal's.   :-[

There were a few times I had to wipe the tears from my eyes.

As for the book itself, I don't know what to say, other than I am so proud to be an Alabama fan.
