Mike Leach passed away Tuesday December 13 - RIP

Mississippi State football coach Mike Leach was taken to a hospital Sunday after experiencing a “personal health issue” at his home earlier in the day, the university announced.

The school provided no further details on the condition of Leach, 61, who is in his third season with the Bulldogs. The school said that after a discussion between university president Mark Keenum and interim athletic director Bracky Brett, they decided to place defensive coordinator Zach Arnett in charge of the team until Leach is able to return.

The university said it would have no other comment other than to say that “the thoughts and prayers of the university are with Mike and [wife] Sharon and their family.”

From what is being said, it's apparently serious. From Dana Holgorsen:

Sports Illustrated‘s Ross Dellenger noted that Leach’s medical situation was “critical”, which confirmed a report from 247Sports‘ Robbie Faulk that stated Leach “needed a miracle.”

Sounds life threatening.

Sure does. Praying he pulls through. I just heard on SportsCenter that he had been battling pneumonia earlier. Don't know if this is related or not. Heart attack or stroke is what comes to my mind.

Saw that.  Also saw he was air lifted from Starkville to Jackson because it was critical.  Stroke?

I’m not sure why everyone is being so secretive about the Mike Leach situation, but I’ll share what I know and what I’ve heard. We know Coach Leach was airlifted to a hospital in Jackson, MS yesterday with a serious health emergency and that’s all that is confirmed. He’s said to be in critical condition with a massive heart attack and that seems pretty reliable. There were some texts going around yesterday that said he did not survive but I believe those are false reports and have heard he is still fighting.
