Sears made some great washing machines. I had Sears Kenmore washers and dryers for years. And when my sons were small, I always bought them Tough Jeans (I think that was the name) from Sears. Sears used to have really good appliances, and probably still do, but other brands just "seem" better. There is a Sears franchise store here and I buy some things from them but not a lot.

Great story about Saab. The automaker is in Sweden and they went to the governmnt last year for a bailout. Overwhelmingl, the voters said NO! Something like 70% of the people said no. They asked, why should their tax money be used to bail out a private ompany? Good question.
