I bet CNS goes ballistic when he sees or seen this one. I would say that guy should never hope to do business in T-town by the time this is over. Fans will have him closed down. RTR!

Dammit, dammit, dammit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The compliance people better be working overtime!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Calm down. The University has made several statements that they have looked into this menswear rumor and found nothing to be wrong. I am too lazy to look up the links but they have been posted on this board for the last few days. This came up after it became public knowledge that the NCAA was looking into a Montgomery menswear store giving away freebies to barn players. Even Finebaum thinks we are clean.

Well, I sure hope so.  We've been dodging bullets for too may years now, and I am glad CNS is here and doing all he can to clean up the program. The compliance dept had better put on more staff, and look in every nook and cranny..everybody is gunning for us., and we got stupid players just like every other team.

ANn.d if one more person says. "they are just college kids" I'm gonna puke. Hell, most of the trouble makers have been upperclassmen. Hey, I went to college, too, and I did my sha re of drinking, but I never showed my butt and got in trouble for it. Trouble with too many of these jerks is that hero worship is all they have known since they were 12 yrs old..and they think they are bulletproof and can do stuff just because they wear the Crimson, and they are big sh*t.

OK, so Mal, et.al., says we are good..I sure as hell hope so, I jus keep looking for the other  shoe to fall.

I definitely understand the frustration with these situations. Hopefully, Tide fans in T-Town will let this owner know how unhappy they are with him.

something tells me these players had a signed letter of "go for it" before they gave this guy a stick of gum
I can't believe that after the fishing / laptop episode that they were that stupid , especially
Julio , Mark or Trent ....

All schools are going to have their problems when it comes to players getting "extra benefits" or have disciplinary problems.  Thats why I try my best not to judge others in these matters.... You'll get through this.

So when is the NCAA going to do something about players going onto sports shows and giving interviews? Look at it this way, the show prospers as fans will watch just to hear what the player has to say, the player prospers in a way as it gives him xtra exposure which helps to get his name out to the NFL agents, wouldnt this be considered a benefit, if so is the NCAA going to put a stop these interviews?

The player in your example does not REALIZE any benefit until he gets paid. Until he turns his name into cash or something that can be assigned a monetary value.

My suggestion on all of this is Bama fans need to forget it and move on. When the University puts something out that they have a problem with the clothing store, then we can do our venting. RTR!!

I agree. I trust the University more than these hack reporters.

1. I have dissociated myself form Brooks, and KK-Klay Travis.

And think about this for a moment. No, really think about this, and let it sink in.

Writing about Auburn's possible violations: Charles Robinson of Yahoo Sports, Pete Thammel of The New York Times, and Danny Sheridan of USA Today.

Writing about Alabama and T-Town Men's Wear: Brooks of "Sports By Brooks", and Clay Travis on "Out Kick The Coverage." ( They both write for their own website.)

Now who is more credible?

Don't leave Scarbinsky out of it, he's had his pencil pretty sharp of late.

Travis and Scarbo started this mess. They are always doing what they can to hate the Tide. But I am not sure that SbyB wasn't merely reporting how low Scarbo and Travis are willing to stoop. Reread the SbyB article. The part that is italicized is Scarbo's, --not Brooks.

I heard a sports radio broadcaster hypothesize that brooks is fed information from Bristol.  I think it was kincaid from ATL.  He had a lot of backup for it.

IDK where Brooks gets his info. He has been all over the  barn, that is certain.  I just hate to see him being blamed when MAYBE he was being neutral. Reread the article and tell me/show me what he said bad against the Tide. Maybe y'all are seeing something I am not. RTR

I am not concerned about sbb in the least.  He doesnt have an axe to grind against bama.  It's scab and that other guy and the possibility of some stupid crap going down.

Bingo! We already know Scarbo and Travis have an ax to grind--SbB just pointed it out. Let's leave Brooks alone so he can get back to chasing the barn down.

Folks, why doesn't someone just send them a roster and let them choose a different player each day because they are having a blast pulling the strings of the Tide fans. Compliance says Bama is clean.

^This. With everyone getting caught, saying they investigated and allegations were unwarranted, and then getting nailed, along with our history with the NZAA, I don't see compliance botching this one.

Things are really getting crazy on the internet with rumors and lies becoming more frequent. I guess the starting of the season has a lot to do with it.
