The doping science has been ahead of the testing science for some time -- testing is just starting to catch up.
Many of the top riders were doping in those days, and it wouldn't surprise me if Lance did too, especially early in his career, before his cancer. There have been rumors for some time that he attributed his cancer to doping, although some of the stories (like the claimed cover-up when Lance allegedly tested positive in the Tour De Suisse) seem a bit far-fetched.
So while I'm not taking a position, either way I wouldn't be surprised.
With the scrutiny he has been through, if h was doping he would have been caught. Over 500 test, and everyone came up negative.
ESPN had him on OTL this morning and they mentioned all the drug test and the fact that he has
NEVER failed one of them ...
anyone got any ideas on how he could have pulled that one off ?
testing negative on that many test ? other than being clean is there
any other way ?
