Around Campus / The Quad / Re: NCAA to announce "unprecedented" penalties against Penn St

Taking away enough wins from Paterno to put him behind Bowden would be appropriate, and it'd be something the NCAA would likely do. I could see that. It would also punish him instead of the current players, though they'll get theirs too.
I think it is not only appropriate to take away wins, it is an essential element of the punishment. A coach who assists harboring a criminal so that he can try to reach some magic number of wins should never be remembered for the resulting wins. He should not be allowed that kind of legacy -- the cost was much too high.

I've been through parts of N.O. Never Brooklyn, though, I'm not a complete fool. Mostly for me it was parts of Chicago, the South side and western parts, and I lived near and drove through Cabrini Green, an infamous housing project, long before they demolished it, and past the only McDonalds ever closed due to a gang war that riddled it with bullets. I found that Cabrini Green made a great shortcut during daylight hours, because no one ever went there, although I did drive fast, and I never, ever stopped.

Oak Cliff is considered a tough neighborhood, by Dallas standards. I've driven through there several times, and was never concerned, compared to other places I've been, but maybe I missed the roughest neighborhoods.

Click here for linkNick Saban and the Alabama staff have once again put the Crimson Tide in position to land the nation's best recruiting class in 2013 but with plenty of other schools, including *****, landing huge commitments in recent weeks, UA will need to continue pursuing some of its top targets in order to stay on top.... Thank you for keeping it clean... I hope Saban can land Vernon Hargreaves III. Bama was not on his radar initially, but now it seems Saban is leading the charge.

There are thousands to pick from. You have to weed a few out. HTH
I think her weeds are growing out her chin, her upper lip, and ... "It" looks like Tiny Tim on Steroids. She would be crushing those tulips...

Around Campus / The Quad / Re: D Carter to FAU ?

According to the linked article, if NCAA gives him a waiver and he can play this year, then he can play two years. I hope this works out for him. Seems to me his dad had been trying has been involved in trying to get him straightened out. We had no factual basis for thinking this is anything more than academics issues. So if he can get that solved with FAU's ciriteria, get in school and play, then let him do it.
My guess is if he had been at the Barn they would have found a way to get him declared eligible.
yeah, if it's academics, and it probably is, then FAU might be a good fit for him.

How much eligibility does he have left? He played one year at tOSU and another at JC. He was at Alabama doing something for two years. I think the rule is once you start college you have 5 years to complete 4 years eligibility. There are some exceptions like military duty, mormons can go on 2 year mission trips, hardship medical or family issues, etc. If he transfers again does he have to sit out another year even if he never played at Bama?
I don't think he ever made the roster at Bama, and there is no telling what he was doing. So I doubt he has to sit out a year, but anyway, good riddance.
