Ready to admit that Obasohan is for real yet, WV?  Kid is a spark plug, drives to the hole well, and has a mid range game that our other guards don't seem to have.

He makes things happen when he is in the game. he can also consistantly hit free throws. He is only a freshman too.

It depends on what you mean by "for real".  I did that before the regular season ended. I don't remember which game-but myself and another regular (maybe CP) said we bothered to learn how to spell his name that day. He has become a consistent contributor in the last few weeks. I don't remember saying anything bad about him early in the season-- other than bungling the spelling of his name.

Amazing how Obasohan, Jacobs, & Randolph came to life at the end of the season. What happened & what took so long? Randolph seems to have new confidence and I think Obasohan was overlooked by the staff.  I think pmull said Jacobs was out-of-shape and had an ankle sprain, which would explain his early season play. Has the coaching staff changed something or what? Very interesting, but somewhat bothersome.

 Huh?

Maryland has a 7'1" 255 center (Ukrainian). He gets about 12 pts. and 8 rebs. a game. He got 20pts in a 3 point loss to UNC.

 Huh?

Obasohan is a redshirt freshman. It is not easy to find playing time with our group of guards. His hard work in practice got him some playing time. CAG told him early in the season it is better to be prepared and not get to play than to not be ready when your time comes. Once he earned playing time he has make the most of his minutes. He is a real spark plug when he comes in the game. I think CAG has been putting him in when he feels our offense is about to hit a lull in these last few games. Steele getting hurt gave him his chance.

Jacobs has lost over 20 pounds since the season started. I hope he learned his lesson and works hard this off season. He had a sore ankle to begin the season but him being out of shape was his real problem according to CAG. He is having back trouble now that is limiting his play. That is way we are seeing so much of Gueye.

I saw Randolph play in high school. He was a fantasic player. I thought he was as good a recruit for us as Lacey at that time. He has under preformed until recently on the offensive end. He has always shown good ball skills on the defensive end. He is Mr. Hustle. He gets a ton of loose balls and rebounds.

We tend to reget how young our team is. No seniors unless you count Steele. Releford is a junior and plays like a three year starter. If we can get any post play next year we will have one of the most experienced and best back courts in the country.

Both UVA and SJU getting some good play out of their big men. Sampson, for SJU (F) even knocking down 15 footers as well as mixing it up underneath.

UVA wins by 18 to advance to MSG. IDK how their guards will hold up to our defensive pressure (1 UVA star is a freshman) but they have a good team for a NIT entry.
