Click here for linkAlabama has had at least one defensive lineman taken in the last three NFL Drafts. Yet despite losing elite talent at the position year after year, the Crimson Tide continue to reload at the position thanks to stellar recruiting by Nick Saban and the Alabama staff.
The defensive line will once again be a focal point for the Tide staff in the 2013 recruiting cycle, and while Alabama is still waiting to land its first defensive line commitment for the 2013 class, some of the nation's best recruits have the Tide listed among their favorites.
"I think defensive line is a top priority in every class for Alabama," said BamaOnline recruiting analyst Tim Watts. "Last year, Saban and his staff had a strong haul with an impressive finish with Korren Kirven and Dalvin Tomlinson right before national signing day. So far, no defensive linemen have committed for 2013 but Alabama is in pursuit of several of the nation's best."
The Tide's wish list for defensive line recruits reads a lot like a list of the nation's best high school players. Topping that list is the consensus choice for the nation's best player, Georgia star Robert Nkemdiche.
"Obviously the biggest name is Nkemdiche. He's the nation's top prospect and I don't think there is any debate on that issue. Alabama has been considered the favorite for a long time but LSU, Ole Miss, Clemson and Georgia are also being mentioned." ...
