Alabama officially announced the hirings of Rhea and David Ballou in early March. The two men took over the strength and conditioning program after longtime coach Scott Cochran left for an on-field role at Georgia. Rhea and Ballou spent the last two seasons at Indiana.

Rhea also tweeted Saturday that Ballow has been “throwing everything we’ve got at these guys for injury risk reduction but we’re still seeing speed improvements across the team. (Yes you can still develop speed at this level if you do it right). These guys definitely know how to work. Been a pleasure so far.”....

We're not going to know how to act if we come out of fall practice healthy.

I have to wonder if last year was the breaking point with CNS and injuries, especially pre-season injuries.  Maybe he concluded:  There has to be a better way; we have to do something different.  Even if he didn't know exactly what to do.  Kinda feels that way to me.

McB, I can't help but think that's the case. Letting CSC go that easy was a real tell.
