the coach of the year.

"It turns out all of the talk about Alabama's Anthony Grant deserving the award for Southeastern Conference coach of the year was just that: talk.

After guiding his team to the regular-season championship, Florida's Billy Donovan was named the SEC's coach of the year by the league's coaches.

Florida senior forward Chandler Parsons was named the SEC player of the year.

Alabama had three players recognized. Junior forward JaMychal Green was a first-team All-SEC selection. Sophomore forward Tony Mitchell was a second-team pick, and freshman Trevor Releford was named to the All-Freshman team."

More Here including the entire All-Sec Team. (http://www.al.com/sports/index.ssf/2011/03/sec_peers_snub_tides_anthony_g.html)

I don't see any glaring surprises.  And I'm not surprised at 'Coach of the Year' after the slaughter at UF.  If they had voted last month, I think Grant would have won.  And I think he deserved it.

I still think Grant deserves it.

When I saw that Donavon had never won before, it was obvious that they would give it to him this year.  No Susan Lucci's in the SEC.

CBD ran the gamut. Picked to win the SEC, and won it. This is hard to do. On the other hand, he won the SEC in a decidedly off year, with superior talent. CMG could've coached UF to win the conference. They just fear that the CAG accolades are going to be raining down on T-Town for the next ten years.

Wait, he won two consecutive national titles and didnt win SEC COTY?

I don't have a problem with Donovan winning it. FL had a good year. I was surprised when I heard he had never been coach of the year before. He has had some good teams.

Grants time will come.
