Too early to giggle and wring our hands, but here's the latest:

That O-line is hurting!

You think they're hurting now? Just wait 10 days.  :D

Just shows how many teams are hurting. Wisconsin loves to run but with so many O-linemen banged up they will be in trouble without some guys getting well.

I've seen this before.  Many of them will have a miraculous cure the Sunday after the game and will be ready to go for the the next game.

I think it was Michigan who had a bunch of players "hurt" for our game, but then they were back the next week.  :dunno:

Those guys got hurt during the game.  I remember their fans were psyched before the game, because Michigan beat Virginia Tech in the Sugar Bowl the year before.  They said that Michigan was going to "Shock the World."  :lol2:  We noticed a lot of alcohol glasses in their section after the game.

You might be thinking Ole Miss, maybe 4-5 years ago.  Those guys knew what they were facing.

If they have that many linemen that are unable to play then they may be trying to recruit some fat guys to play for them in that game.  Anyone interested?  Anyone?  :dunno:

Doubt I'd even know how to wear the modern pads, probably couldn't find the lockerroom, am older than the coaches, but ...

COUNT ME IN!   :lol2: :lol2:

Pre-season injury reports are tricky to understand. Players are held out of practice and reported as injured when they are just being rested to heal from nagging injuries that would not keep them out of a game. It is not to tell which injuries are serious and which are bumps, briuses and minor issues

Whoever, whatever. Let's just kick it off. I believe that our d-line and linebackers are going to do a MUCH better job (regardless of who we are playing) of limiting the time the QB has to get rid of the ball. There has been much made of our weak secondary, but it's really the effectiveness of the pass rush that determines whether the safeties and corners have to choose between guarding against getting burned on a double move or going all out to stop the short pass. If the quarter back is lying underneath Reggie Ragland at the 2.3 second mark, all a double move will produce is exhausted receivers running down the field for nothing. Improved effectiveness on the short passes will improve our ability to get off the field on third down. The beasts get to rest, then wash, rinse, and repeat. I am stoked to see much improved rush and containment this year. Release the krakens!

Chryst reports on Wisky players' status.

http://www.al.com/sports/index.ssf/2015/08/chryst_wisconsin_turn_focus_to.html

Quote
Senior wide receiver Tanner McAvoy was the latest player to be sidelined by an injury.

While talking to boosters, Chryst acknowledged that McAvoy, who also is expected to see playing time at safety, slowed down during practice but remained until the end of the workout.

"Tanner did kind of tweak something," Chryst said. "We've got a couple of days and we'll be smart with him."

They're a banged up team, it would appear, unless they are trolling us. If McAvoy is hurt, that would be a huge blow to them.

Call me cynical, but this may be a strategy we might call the "Buckeye BooHoo": "Yes, we had an early loss to VT/Bama, but we were banged up. We are a completely different team now".
