In a stunning turn of events, Hugh Freeze has resigned from Ole Miss on Thursday. The move comes after the school found at least one call from the coach to an escort service on his school-issued cell phone.

Bjork told Yahoo on Friday that after receiving the information from Mars, the school had pulled records of Freeze’s cell calls and plowed through 39,000 calls without finding another instance of a call to the 313 number. However, the school kept digging through the records and must have found additional troubling information.

:lol:  That had to be the last straw.

Reading between the lines, it looks like Freeze has been cheating on his wife or something very similar. Ole Miss said he had a pattern of misconduct & moral turpitude.

Les Miles wants to coach again and Ole Miss desperately needs a respectable coach to take over. It might be a good match.

Essentially, Nutt and his camp got his successor at Ole Miss ousted in a fashion similar to what Nutt himself faced 10 years ago at Arkansas.

A series of records requests preceded Nutt’s departure from Arkansas in 2007. One request, for Nutt’s cell phone records, revealed more than 2,000 texts between the coach and a local news anchor. Rumors circulated that Nutt was having an affair, which he denied. His wife wrote a blog post in his defense. A lawsuit was threatened, but ultimately not filed.

Either that or ordering escorts for recruits. If the latter, farewell Ole Miss Football.

Freeze and Ole Miss were trying to screw Houston Nutt by blaming him for most of the current NCAA violations. Nutt sued the University and Freeze. While attorneys reviewed Freeze's records for the Nutt Civil case they found calls to escort services (Hookers /Ho's). It turned out Freeze has been doing this for years.

Very disappointed in Freeze. I thought he was a good and decent man that made a few mistakes trying to compete in the SEC West. Turns out he is a scumbag.

By the way, Freeze claims it was a butt dial, saying he was in an 813 area code and accidentally dialed 313 (which was the escort service).  The call apparently only lasted one minute.

Talk about a booty call gone wrong.

The man has an excuse for EVERYTHING! I think he is a sick man who was also an excellent offensive coach. No doubt they were paying for players and now the personal peccadilloes of Freeze have come to light and he is still lying his butt off. He is a huge sociopath.

For ex-Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze, this generality holds especially true when we re-visit one of his more notable responses at SEC Media Days last week.

They were lies of deflection and opportunism. They were lies told to save face and recruiting classes, lies with concern for self but not others, lies that Freeze and everyone else in power at Ole Miss football had to know would eventually collapse.

They told them anyway, because the NCAA was pouncing on them and National Signing Day was but a few weeks away. So come January 2016, they began whispering off the record to college football reporters that the NCAA investigation into Ole Miss recruiting hadn’t actually found much about Freeze’s suspiciously white-hot program, that the majority of alleged violations came from the prior coach.

Houston Nutt was the prior Ole Miss head coach, now retired into broadcasting.

If this were a movie script I was evaluating, I would say the plot is too unrealistic to be believable.  So it might be a bad work of fiction but this will make a heck of a documentary when all is revealed.

Really seems like the players at OM are screwed.  I would think a bunch will leave.  Dan Mullen must be loving this.

Looks like the NCAA got what they wanted; Freeze's head.

I think the NCAA is going to crush Ole Miss because a major part of their defense was built around what a good, decent, & honorable man Hugh Freeze was. Well, that is shot to crap now. They didn't care about the lying and cheating which is what the NCAA cared about. I think they get hit harder than anyone in the last 25 years, short of the Death Penalty. I can see them losing 30 scholarships over 3 years, 3 year bowl ban, 10 years of probation, and Freeze getting a 10 year show cause penalty. Like I said, it will be ugly.

Everything I have read says the NCAA wants Ole Miss in the worst way. They have been lied to and don't like it.

John Higdon   They said the call was less than 1 minute. Can't believe you can get much done in that amount of time sounds like a setup to me. They have been out to get him from the start. You watch now he is gone the ncaa will end their investigation and finally lay down their penalties. The ncaa sucks. If you beat teams that you are not supposed to this is what happens. They will dig up stuff whether true or not and get rid of the problem. I want the team to know that the fans are with you. The team won those games and when something happens to one of you, everybody else stepped up. It's time. Show them you can win without Coach Freeze. It's up to you. Wish you best. I will always be behind you.
