Phil Savage, the analyst on Alabama's radio broadcasts and executive director of the Senior Bowl, mentioned two names on his Twitter account.

Crimson Tide receivers coach Billy Napier and former UCLA/Washington/Colorado head coach Rick Neuheisel made the list "to keep an eye on." ...

He wasn't too successful as a head coach if I remember right, but a lot of good position coaches/coordinators have failed as head coaches.

That's like asking if you would rather have the flu or a severe sinus infection.

Who ever CNS hires will have to play by CNS rules. The OC, or any assistant coach, rarely talks with the media. The OC will be in the press box during the games so they will rarely be seen. It really does not matter to be. I have faith CNS will make the best hire possible for the good of the team.

The Coach Nuss situation is hard to figure out. We have been loaded on offense the last two years and scored a lot of points and put up good offensive stats. However, play calling never made sense to me. We would have a team that was struggling to stop the run and we would shoot our self in the foot passing the ball. IMO we seemed to be a pass first team under Nuss rather than a run the ball to set up the pass that we had under McElwain. I agree with MD that Nuss was mostly likely asked to look for another job.

Just saw where CBS Sports saying that Lane Kiffin will interview by the end of the week for the OC Position!!

Regardless of who CNS hires I doubt you will notice much difference in our offense other than a new wrinkle or two. We may see more no huddle out of our base offense. I hope what we do see is a better rhythm to the play calling.

Thanks pmull. I was kind of wondering that myself. We are a power football team. I would love to see a good QB that can open up the offense and keep people off our RB's.  , RTR!

Nailed it!!

In the Sugar Bowl, the flaws of Nussmeier's scheme were put under a heavy spotlight: the protection broke down, McCarron faltered and three turnovers ultimately doomed the Tide. Alabama's most potent weapons -- guys such as O.J. Howard and Derrick Henry -- were underutilized, and a back-and-forth commitment to the running game turned the offense from dangerously dynamic to utterly predictable.
