The Constitution of the United States is pretty much dead and buried. It is a joke to this administration and it is a joke to most of the supreme court. PLEASE, everybody get out and vote in November!!!

Let me try to explain this for you Daily Thread guys:

When the White House lawyers were arguing the mandate being upheld under the Commerce Clause, one of the supremes asked, "Where does it stop?". Would everyone be forced to buy a Chevy Volt in order to put Detroit and the autoworkers back to work?

Chief Justice Roberts put a stop to that today. From now on, if they chose to impose a tax on the American people, they will have to call it what it is,-- a tax.

Now, you wanna talk about a motivated voting base chomping at the bit for November? BHO can enjoy his little win today, but now voters SHOULD realize they need to not only replace the President in November, but also the congressional members that voted for this tax on the middle class.

#+ #+, BAMAWV that is the best explanation I have seen. It is a TAX. RTR!

Yep. BHO might enjoy the victory, but he cannot like how he got it. There is no way he wanted the idea of "tax" tied to his precious socialism. Glad CJ Roberts saw it for what it was.

Bingo.  Congress has the power to tax anything they want.  The scary part is what they might tax next.  Where will it end?  Will they tax the air that we breathe?

What's going to be very interesting is the part of the ruling that basically said that the federal government can't punish states for not expanding their Medicaid programs to cover the people who can't afford health insurance.  So, in effect, the people who can't afford health insurance are going to be asked to pay a tax that they probably can't afford, either, for not having health insurance that they can't afford.  We probably all know who will be stuck paying their tax for them.  BHO and his cronies are gloating about their "win" in imposing this new tax when they argued for months that it wasn't a tax.  They will sweep under the rug the part about now imposing an even greater burden on the poor, not to mention everyone whose insurance rates are going to go up.

I am not crazy about Mitt Romney AT ALL, BUT I think I just decided today to vote for him instead writing in someone else's name.  If somebody doesn't do something to keep the government in check, I can see another revolution in the future like the one that was started when the colonists got tired of their tea being taxed.  Does anyone know if you can watch Alabama football in Costa Rica or Belize?  They look better all the time.

Bingo back atcha--

Also very important in today's decision is the holding that no longer can Congress mandate that the states take on the added financial burden of broadened Medicaid rolls, else the states will lose all of the Federal funding of Medicaid, both for current enrollees and the broad new class of enrollees.  The 10th Amendment is in fact a part of the Constitution, Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi notwithstanding.

Maybe if we ask real nice and everyone apologizes, Bush and Cheney would come back. But this time, how about we have 43 as VP and Cheney in the Oval.

I couldn't even breathe when I started this thread, I was so mad. The ruling had just come out. The company that I am a partner in specializes in recruiting agents to enroll Medicare eligibles into Medicare Advantage plans. For those of you who don't understand Medicare Advantage, or MA plans, they are plans of Medicare administered by private insurance companies, and administer better benefits than Original Medicare. These plans are funded by the Medicare dollars you pay in all your employed life. Private insurance companies do a MUCH better job of managing care than the government when it comes to Medicare. Guess what's going to happen now? The government is going to be knee deep in your health care. Obama says he cares about the economy and unemployment, but is talking out both sides of his face. The state exchanges that people will be using to enroll in their health care, will enroll on-line, cutting out the jobs of the insurance agent. Regardless of what some people think, the vast majority of insurance agents have the best interest of their clients at heart. They have a connection with their client and are the go-to person for the client when their is an issue at hand. With this arrangement, the insured will have to deal with the bureaucracy of the government and the insurance company with no one in their corner to help them.

That's my personal take from this ruling.

Here is what's going to happen as a result of the Medicaid ruling stating that the states that can't be punished by the federal government if they opt out. The tax that will be assessed on the middle class population that was slated to be part of the Medicaid expansion, will be a large burden on said middle class. The few idiotic states that do participate, are going to be putting the tax burden on the prosperous, putting enormous pressure on them to evacuate that state to avoid massive taxes. This is a boondoggle of immense proportions and I sincerely hope this is the catalyst that will unify all Republicans, Independents, blue dog democrats and fence straddlers to mass assemble at the polls in November and vote this POS out of office. God help us if he is re-elected.
